As usual, we’re into the long winter break with cliffhangers to handle. Fire Country season 4 is no different, and usually, we only need to wait until January to get the resolutions. That’s not happening this year, though, as Fire Country will not return with new episodes in January 2026.
The entire CBS lineup is on hold, and for a good reason. It just doesn’t feel like it’s a good reason right now, as we have to wait to find out what will happen to various characters who are in danger. Why is CBS holding the show, and what can we expect when it returns?

When will Fire Country season 4 return on CBS?
CBS has opted to go against the other networks. While ABC, NBC, and FOX are bringing shows back in January, CBS will hold off until February and March. There is a good reason for this, and it’s all linked to the Winter Olympics.
It means we’re waiting until Friday, Feb. 27 for Fire Country season 4 to return. The entire Friday night lineup will be back as normal, meaning Fire Country will return at 9/8c on that night.
And yes, this is due to the Winter Olympics. Bringing shows back in January will mean another break in February for a few weeks while the Winter Games take place. NBC will air the Games, but other networks won’t want to go up against them. Instead of this inconsistent schedule, CBS has opted to hold off the returns until after the Games are done, and that means more consistency on the other side as well, since there are plenty of episodes to get us through to May for finale season.

What to expect on Fire Country season 4 episode 10
Lives were left on the line on the Fire Country season 4 fall finale. Jake and Malcolm were on the way to an emergency when their fire engine tumbled down the side of the cliff. We have no idea if either one will survive at this point.
Meanwhile, Bode went into the middle of a fire to rescue Tyler, but the fire has threatened all around them, and they had to duck for cover and just hope that they could survive.
With all of this going on, Manny’s leadership is sure to be called into question. He’s the new battalion chief, and while he should have deserved it, there is a lot hanging over his head with the catastrophic fire that remains an unsolved mystery. To be honest, 42 shouldn’t have gone into the fire in the fire place, as it wasn’t even in their jurisdiction, so was he right putting the lives of his own firefighters on the line?
With so many cliffhangers, we can’t wait for Fire Country to return. We just have to wait until Friday, Feb. 27 at 9/8c on CBS.
