Break out the Duff Beer and Pawtucket Ale because both The Simpsons and Family Guy will be accomplishing some really big things that could only happen once in television history on February 15, 2026! And while it's not the rebroadcast of the 2014 crossover episode, "The Simpsons Guy," where the two reigning families of Sunday finally meet, the celebration on February 15 will still tie Homer and Peter together.

Both animated comedies established a presence in the fandom and television landscapes through their cutthroat, sardonic humor and accurate portrayals of society, despite the fact that Homer and Peter are a pair of buffoons. Nonetheless, the characters' 'flaw' is what made them infamous in the first place. So, who am I to judge the creators' formulas and what works for them? Without The Simpsons and Family Guy, I feel like TV would be a dimming void, and life as we know it, well, it wouldn't be the life we know.

Season 37 of The Simpsons is currently airing on Sundays on FOX, while Family Guy will head to the mid-season block sometime in 2026. But the two shows will air together on the same night, for they will surpass a massive milestone, that will yet again, define television.

The Simpsons and Family Guy will mark 800 and 450 episodes in 2026

We told you that Sunday, February 15, 2026, will be a historic date for the two animated comedies, and here's why. The Simpsons will air their 800th episode, and while we don't know its storyline just yet, we know that it's going to be a great one. I'd love to see Homer and Bart bond more for the celebratory piece, as the two have a somewhat patchy relationship due to 'the boy's' antagonism and his dad's pig-headedness. But once they put their differences aside, it's a great narrative to watch.

It only took 37 years to reach this milestone.

Family Guy will also be celebrating a major milestone on February 15. FOX will air its 450th episode, right after The Simpsons, which will also have their season 37 finale that night. As with The Simpsons, we haven't a clue what the writers have in store for the narrative, but since Family Guy is primarily centered on Peter, Brian, and Stewie, don't be surprised if the three Griffins stir up some memorable and odd shenanigans! We could always go for more of those.

Until the big day drop to witness The Simpsons and Family Guy together again, you can catch up on seasons 1-36 on Disney+ for the former and seasons 1-23 for the latter.
