During each season of Dancing with the Stars, there are so many performances that fans of the ABC reality show will sometimes turn to recaps to track everything that happened. Even if the number of stellar and not-so-great performances weren't enough to keep track of, DWTS tapings also sometimes have shocking celebrities in the studio audience, which only makes the grandeur of the show even more remarkable.
Since there are so many compelling elements of the show, it makes sense that the pros and their partners often make fascinating choices to stand out. One recent example of that is the fact that a pro convinced their celebrity partner to do part of their dance together while they were shirtless. After that moment helped their performance stick out in a major way, that pro has expressed why they regret that moment.
Witney Carson regrets having Robert Irwin dance shirtless on Dancing with the Stars
We're only weeks into Dancing with the Stars season 34 and Robert Irwin and Witney Carson already seem like real contenders to win the mirrorball trophy. If that does wind up happening, it will be the second time that Witney has prevailed on the show following her season 19 win with Dancing with the Star's current co-host, Alfonso Ribeiro.
During week 3 of season 34, Witney was dancing the salsa with her partner when Robert ripped his shirt off mid-performance. Thanks to Robert's impressive physique, the moment garnered a lot of attention, to say the least. While talking to Entertainment Tonight about that moment after the fact, Witney professed that she had regrets about getting Robert to go shirtless.
"I had so many moments of regret. I was like, 'Did I make the right choice taking his shirt off?'"Witney Carson
After revealing that she questioned if the shirtless moment was a wise choice, Witney then jokingly referred to the massive reaction that viewers had to it. While sporting a smile, Witney commented on the huge reaction that there has been to Robert's physique before laughing at the situation.
"Girls, let's take it down a little. I can only take so much!"
While watching footage of Witney discussing the situation, it is impossible to not notice how happy Robert seemed to be. However, it should also be noted that Robert almost always seems enthused because he has that same quality that made his father so beloved. As Robert stood beside her, Witney was asked if she was showing Robert how many fans were reacting to his shirtless moment. Witney then explained that she has been keeping the messages she has seen to herself to protect Robert from being distracted so he can concentrate on performing and practicing.
"Listen, I am banking them for when the time is right, after the season, cause we cannot be distracted. He thinks that it would be fine, but he cannot."
