Dancing With the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev has mostly been a staple on the competition series since he first joined in season 19. Since then, he was on every season except seasons 21 and 28. He was also noticeably absent from the most recent season, DWTS season 33 as well. With fans not seeing him this time around, some are now wondering if he'll be coming back after a social media video went up.
On TikTok, fellow pro dancer Gleb Savchenko posted a video of him dancing with Sasha Farber and Chigvintsev. The two have been staples on the series as well and did compete this year. With the trio back together in the video, fans are hoping this is a sign that Chigvintsev is going to be one of the cast members in the upcoming Dancing With the Stars season 34, which will premiere sometime in fall 2025 on ABC.
No official word has come yet on who we can expect to see back, including the celebrities themselves. The only two stars confirmed so far are Robert Irwin and Alix Earle. This actually isn't a surprise as Daniella Karagach revealed that, surprisingly, the pro dancers themselves don't learn whether they'll be a part of the cast of a new season until August, only a few days before the big announcement is made on Good Morning America to us viewers. That's crazy!
She herself commented “Let’s gooooooooooo" on the video, with most of the fans sharing that they'd like to see Chigvintsev back. Though we probably won't find this out until August when the full cast of pro dancers and stars is announced. There are also a few who don't know if he should return following allegations that surfaced about him last year.
In August 2024, he was arrested on domestic violence charges raised by his then wife Nikki Bella, though they were dropped a month later by the Napa County District Attorney, per Us Weekly. In September 2024, the two filed for divorce and filed restraining orders against each other. These were also dropped a month later. Now, it seems Chigvintsev and Bella are co-parenting their son Matteo successfully, the news outlet shares. Bella, who is a professional wrestler, was paired with her then husband on DWTS season 25 and made it to week 7.
It is very tough when a known figure's personal life is in the public eye, and this incident has definitely effected the dancer's image. So, I don't know. Many fans seem to be welcoming towards having him back, while others are more reluctant. I guess it will be up to the Dancing With the Stars season 34 producers on whether they want to bring Chigvintsev back. We'll have to wait and see until August when the cast is announced.
