It seems Found’s run has, unfortunately, come to an end... this time for good.
As fans will recall, Found was one of the many beloved shows canceled by NBC this May in a wave that saw NBC issuing several unexpected cancellations. Following the show’s cancellation, word broke that Warner Bros. TV was not giving up on the show and had begun actively shopping it around in hopes of finding it a new home.
Sadly, it seems that despite Warner Bros. TV’s best efforts, the studio has been unable to find someone interested in renewing Found.
According to TVLine, no new home was found for Found, and Warner Bros. TV has officially stopped shopping the show around. This means that the show’s cancellation will stick and we will not be getting a third season of the Shanola Hampton-led drama. This also means we’re not going to be getting a proper conclusion to the show, and that the unresolved storylines from the series finale will not be getting resolution, at least not in new episodes.
Season 2 ended with a pair of shocking twists. First, Gabi decided to finally come clean about kidnapping Sir and holding him captive in her basement for several months. Then, we cut to prison guards running into Sir’s cell, where they discovered him lying in a pool of blood. These two creative decisions would have likely influenced the events of season 3, exploring the repercussions of Gabi’s confession and exploring how Sir ended up in that condition.
It’s a real shame that Found was unable to find a new home. It felt as though the show had only just begun to hit its stride, and it’s unfortunate that NBC pulled the plug on the show after just two seasons.
While the efforts might have proved fruitless, we definitely commend Warner Bros. TV for trying to find the show a new home following its cancellation on NBC. Warner Bros. TV is one of those rare studios that fights for its shows, and those battles have led to many successful victories, most notably in the studio’s ability to find new homes for Lucifer and Manifest.
For those who missed Found during its initial run on NBC, the show is streaming on Peacock and it’s definitely worth a watch! While the series ended on a cliffhanger, it’s an amazing series and we highly recommend we highly recommend watching the show before it gets removed from Peacock’s catalog.
