Boston Blue just achieved a major achievement, debuting with a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes! However, this shouldn't come as a surprise to those who have watched the first episode. The Boston Blue premiere was everything fans could have hoped for.

We got to see the return for fan-favorite Blue Bloods character, Danny Reagan, as he took a trip to Boston to take care of his son, Sean, who was in the hospital. While there, he partnered up with Boston PD detective Lena Silver to solve the very case that left Sean in a bad physical state. We also got to meet a bunch of Lena's family members, who are all involved in law enforcement in some way. Well, except Lena's grandfather, Reverend Peters. He's just focused on serving the community and offering guidance.

The first episode also featured two Blue Bloods cameos. Bridget Moynahan reprised her role as ADA and Danny's younger sister, Erin Reagan, and Marisa Ramirez returned as Detective Maria Baez. Those who had been keeping up with the new spinoff series likely already knew about Moynahan's cameo because it had already been confirmed.

But Ramirez's appearance came as a pleasant surprise for fans. Now, everyone's wondering if there will be any more familiar faces from Blue Bloods popping up throughout the season. Based on a new interview from Boston Blue director and executive producer Anthony Hemingway, it looks like fans won't be disappointed.

When asked by Deadline if more Blue Bloods characters will appear in Boston Blue this season, Hemingway explained that while he couldn’t give away any spoilers, the show’s plan is to continue finding ways to intersect with the original series and its characters. He then went in on specifics, stating how Erin's cameo in the series opener was especially meaningful. She arrived at a critical moment in Danny's life when he was facing personal challenges.

But when it comes to seeing more Reagans in the spinoff, Hemingway refused to spoil anything. However, he did confirm that Boston Blue will continue including elements from Blue Bloods to satisfy longtime fans.

"As for more Reagans, I don’t want to spoil everything for everyone, but there is definitely elements of Blue Bloods coming in Boston Blue that will satisfy, I think, the hardcore fans of the original series."

Although Hemingway did not explicity state which Reagans might appear next, just him saying he didn't want to spoil anything is a hint that more family members could show up in future episodes. Since Boston Blue's announcement fans have been hoping to see Tom Selleck reprise his role as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, aka Danny's father. Another Reagan family member many fans are hoping to see is NYPD Sergeant Jamie Reagan, previously played by Will Estes. Jamie is Danny's younger brother.

Boston Blue season 1 is rumored to consist of 12 episodes, and with Danny relocating to Boston to be with his son and work as a detective for the Boston Police Department, he's going to need all the support he can get from his family. We saw how much of a support system Erin was to him in the season 1 premiere.

Her presence not only helped Danny navigate the emotional turmoil surrounding his son Sean’s hospitalization but also reinforced the importance of family bonds. As the season progresses, it would be nice to see more of the Reagan family pop up, whether it’s Frank offering fatherly wisdom, Jamie bringing his steady support, or other familiar faces lending their guidance. We'll just have to continue tuning in to the police procedural to see which Reagans might pop up on screen next!
