Since Big Brother premiered in the year 2000, there have been a handful of players who've managed to become as closely associated with the show as Julie Chen Moonves. Some of the most obvious examples of Big Brother legends include Dr. Will Kirby, Janelle Pierzina, Dan Gheesling, Danielle Reyes, Cody Calafiore, Britney Haynes, and Derrick Levasseur. While those players all have different reasons why they became icons of the show, they have one thing in common.
The most legendary Big Brother players ever have all made multiple reality show appearances during their impressive careers. As a result, it feels like the door is always open for the most iconic players to compete in the CBS reality show's house again. However, one of the series' most beloved and respected players ever has seemingly closed the door on the possibility of competing on Big Brother again.
Janelle Pierzina stated she likely won't compete on Big Brother again

In August 2025, Janelle Pierzina was interviewed by GeekSided about her reality show legacy and experiences. Since fans expect legendary parts of Big Brother to return, Janelle was asked if viewers should expect her to compete in the reality show's house again. Unfortunately for anyone who wants to see her be a houseguest again, her answer to that question revealed that Janelle likely won't compete on Big Brother again.
"I don't think so. You know, I've played four times, and I really have had a great time doing it. Every single time that I do it, I have fun, and I enjoy it. However, I don't think I really want to come back again. The filming schedule is long. I'm at a different stage in my professional life, and I just don't see myself taking three months off to film a show."
Why Janelle Pierzina never needs to compete on Big Brother again

As someone who vividly remembers watching Janelle Pierzina compete during Big Brother 6 and Big Brother 7 live, the idea of her no longer fighting to win that show seems sad. A true powerhouse of the game, Janelle could wrap people around her finger, destroy in competitions, and she had more killer instinct than almost anyone else in the show's history. For all those reasons and more, I will always welcome the idea of watching her compete.
Still, I have to agree that it makes perfect sense that Janelle wouldn't feel the need to compete on Big Brother ever again for several reasons. Of course, there are all the reasons she told GeekSided about in the aforementioned interview. Janelle is in a different place in her life, competing on Big Brother takes months, and she has played four times before.
As a fan of Janelle and the game, however, I think there is an even more compelling reason why she doesn't need to compete on the show again. The fact of the matter is that Janelle Pierzina has nothing left to prove as a Big Brother player. Truly deserving of being called a legend, she has accomplished virtually everything in the game aside from winning a season. Given her track record, I want to see her spread her wings some more, similar to when a Big Brother legend challenged a Survivor icon recently.
