Bachelor in Paradise has finally returned! Once again, we are drawn back to the sandy shores of Paradise. This time, the show has moved from Mexico to Costa Rica. New beach, but some familiar faces.
With the new beach, the show also has a new look which gives it a whole different vibe. The production value has, dare I say, skyrocketed. It actually made me a little sad-- who doesn't miss the olden days of sandy date cards, low-budget dates, and little shacks to sleep in? Now they're at some sort of fancy resort, complete with a swim-up bar!
In any case, season 10 is off to a very intriguing start. Exciting cinematography, fun contestants (Kat, Justin, Zoe), and the beginnings of romance.
Let's get to the best and worst moments of the season 10 premiere of Bachelor in Paradise!
Worst moment: No greetings
The worst thing that stood out to me on the premiere of Bachelor in Paradise: Jesse Palmer did not greet each contestant as they entered the beach! Instead, the contestants were left to introduce themselves to the camera, which just sounded overly rehearsed and produced as they walked out in slow motion.
We lost so much here. I used to love watching each guest interact with the host when they arrived in Paradise. It revealed what each person was looking for, recapped where they came from, and was usually good for a few laughs!
Most importantly, it would’ve given us more Jesse Palmer, which is always a good thing! Don't they realize he's the best?? Instead, each contestant just wandered out ungreeted. Unacceptable!
Best moment: Hannah Brown
After the guests are all gathered around on the beach, Jesse Palmer descends (what a breath of fresh air) and gives the "Paradise People" the lay of the land. He promotes the resort (they have air conditioning now!) and introduces Wells Adams and Hannah Brown!
Hannah was one of the saving graces of this episode. A longtime member of Bachelor Nation royalty, Hannah steals the show every time she’s on screen! Honestly, without Jesse, Wells, and Hannah, I wouldn’t have felt super connected to this premiere.
Hannah has ostensibly joined the cast for PR– “Paradise Relations.” Whatever that means, I'm here for it!
We didn’t get a lot of Hannah in this episode, but even the teaser made me want to watch more. I’m very intrigued as to what’s to come!
Bachelor in Paradise airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
