Bachelor in Paradise season 10 cast revealed (and there are some unexpected picks)

Bachelor in Paradise is returning for its tenth season, and the cast has been revealed. Bachelor in Paradise is a spin-off series from The Bachelor franchise, which sees some of the more notable alums return for another shot at love, this time on the drama-filled beaches of Central America. Each week, the genders alternate power, with men offering a rose to the women, then the next ceremony is vice versa. Anyone left without a rose is eliminated.

Of course, just because a couple pairs up at first, it does not mean it will stay that way. New singles are introduced to the beach and given a chance to build connections with whoever they want. That is usually where the spice comes in. Of course, production adds to the spice by selecting casemates that have history with one another, usually not for the better.

While we will dig a bit more into the cast in a minute, the cast is not the only shake-up this year. While host Jesse Palmer will continue with the show, and Wells Adams also returns as a co-host and bartender, a new franchise icon is joining the fray. Fan favorite and arguably the most popular Bachelorette in series history, Hannah Brown, will be starring alongside Wells behind the bar.

The other change is location. Formerly filmed on the beaches of Mexico, season 10 is taking a trip further south, to the Central American coastal nation of Costa Rica. The Azura Beach Resort, where filming is taking place, is expected to bring a more luxurious feel than previous seasons. With modern decor and amenities combined with upgraded pleasures like air conditioning, Costa Rica should bring an enjoyable experience for the contestants.

Most of the announced cast for season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise comes from recent installments of the mainline franchises, including two from Joey Graziadei's Bachelor season, three from Grant Ellis' Bachelor season, and a whopping seven from Jenn Tran's Bachelorette season. This all makes sense, given that Bachelor in Paradise often brings on names from shows that recently aired, for recency bias's sake.

That said, not every starting cast member was entirely expected. One of the biggest surprises could well be Dale Moss, who was famously Clare Crawley's ex-fiancé. That season, Clare chose Dale after only weeks, ending her part of the season early and flipping the script, as Tayshia Adams replaced her as Bachelorette for the remaining time. To see him appear back in the franchise is shocking, but intriguing.

Another surprise is seeing two members of Katie Thurston's season of The Bachelorette. Justin Glaze was the runner-up, so his selection makes at least some sense. Kyle Howard, though, was sent home in Week 2, so he will likely not be well-known. In the past, little-known cast members have made some big noise on Bachelor in Paradise, so keep an eye on them. Another to keep an eye on is returning Bachelor in Paradise star from last season, Kat Izzo.

Making some headlines, though, are a pair from the Golden Bachelor spin-offs, Leslie Fhima (The Golden Bachelor) and Gary Levingston (The Golden Bachelorette). How will having a cast with such different ages play out? Will they stick to each other, or will we see some age gap romance? Will additional Golden Bachelor stars show up throughout the season?

Wells spoke about the topic to US Weekly. “This happens all the time in the real world. Look at Bill Belichick right now. It’s happening in front of us. I don’t know if it will, but I think it’ll be cool to have the Goldens around. The thing that I love about The Golden Bachelor so much is they’ve lived so much more life, that their advice, their conversations, the stakes for them are just so much bigger. I think that’ll be a good thing for them to impart on all these young kids.”
