Age of Attraction is a certified hit on Netflix! As soon as the series premiered on March 11, fans had a few big questions: How old are these people? Who ends up together? Which couples are still together after filming ended? And, most importantly, when is Age of Attraction season 2?
We know the answers to the first three questions, thankfully. Netflix still hasn't announced Age of Attraction season 2, but we did find a promising update to share with fans of the series hosted by Nick Viall and Natalie Joy.
Age of Attraction season 2 is officially looking for new contestants
According to an Instagram post from Damn Good Casting, Age of Attraction is already looking for new contestants to join the series for—drum roll, please—season 2!
The caption reads, "Apply for season 2 at: http://ageofattractioncasting.com! Select “Alicia” as your casting contact!"
Age of Attraction season 1 had quite a big cast compared to many reality shows. The show started with about 40 singles aged 22 to 60 years old. Then, it was cut down to six couples (12 contestants) during the second stage of the experiment when the couples move in together and see if they can make their relationship work when they're spending a lot more time together.
I have a feeling the popularity of the series will likely increase the casting pool of new potential contestants to choose from. I think there's also a chance we could see some of the contestants return for another season if they choose. It's not like Love is Blind where the anonymity is the point. Though, we do find out the ages of some of the contestants in the first season, so that could be an issue.
We'll share more casting news as we find out! It's great that they are casting, but it's not the best part of this news.
Age of Attraction season 2 seems more likely than ever
The big takeaway for most fans is obviously that Netflix seems to be moving forward with Age of Attraction season 2. And, it's happening a lot more quickly than we thought it might.
There's no doubt this show is a hit! We still have the season 1 reunion to watch, too. Those are always a good indicator of just how buzzy and popular a show is because we've had three weeks, basically, for the Netflix series to acquire fans. Unfortunately, the Age of Attraction reunion will not air on Netflix. It will be released on Nick Viall's YouTube channel as part of his podcast, The Viall Files.
We don't have the full ratings picture yet for Age of Attraction, but the early numbers are pretty solid for a reality TV series.
In the first few days on Netflix, we learned the series racked up 3.8 million views. It was about half as popular as the Love is Blind season 10 reunion at that point. In its first full week on Netflix, though, it did another 3.2 million views, the same as Bridgerton season 4, which has been in the Netflix Top 10 for two months. We don't have the numbers for the finale yet, but it's probably going to be pretty similar. The show has been on the Netflix Top 10 since it premiered.
Overall, those numbers don't really jump out at you, but it's all relative to the cost of the series. This show, which was filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, is going to be way, way, way cheaper than most Netflix shows.
To me, there's probably enough viewership and buzz to score the series a second season, but we'll have to wait for Netflix to make the final call.
The other good news is that, with casting starting so soon, we hopefully won't have to wait as long for Age of Attraction season 2.
Stay tuned for more news about the hit Netflix reality series. And, if you want to be on the show, it's now time to apply!
