Even though it feels like we just got the vast majority of our favorite shows back after the holiday break, a number of fan-favorites are now heading into another stretch of reruns. While CBS opted to keep most of its scripted series off the air while the Olympics run during February 2026 on NBC, other networks brought their shows back in January only to send them off into reruns again.

That's the case on ABC, which recently shared updates on some of its biggest shows. For starters, Abbott Elementary received a scheduling update that fans aren't thrilled about, but they definitely won't be the only fans going without their favorite show. ABC's most-watched series will also be going off the air to make way for the Olympics, but we already know when the extended break ends.

High Potential season 2 heading into reruns

Following the airing of High Potential season 2 episode 12 on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, ABC will send its most-watched show into reruns for the next three weeks. In place of new episodes, the network will either air repeats airings of past High Potential episodes or other special presentations. Like most shows, the crime procedural will be on hiatus for the remainder of February for a specific reason.

After taking three weeks off for the Olympics and the State of the Union address, ABC brings High Potential back on Tuesday, March 3 at 9/8c for season 2 episode 13. After the airing on Feb. 3, there are six episodes left to air in the 18-episode season, meaning the series will act as a lead-in for the upcoming new procedural RJ Decker starring Scott Speedman for a limited amount of weeks.

While it's frustrating for fans to be without new episodes for an extended period of time, it's understandable why ABC has decided to avoid new episodes of High Potential running while the Olympics puts up stiff competition on NBC. Additionally, the State of the Union address on Feb. 24 would have impacted a new episode from airing anyway.

By taking three week off for repeats in February, the network manages to save the last remaining handful of episodes of High Potential season 2 and will again only leave a small gap in the Tuesday night lineup after the season finale airs. The show is the perfect lead-in ABC could imagine for RJ Decker, and they have made sure as many new episodes paired together as possible.

As usual, the plans could always changed at the drop of a dime, which is how The Rookie ended up moving from Tuesday nights to Monday nights only a couple weeks into its season 8 run. High Potential's scheduling could definitely be subject to change based on ABC's needs, but expect the show to return on March 3. We'll be sure to keep fans updated will all of the latest news and updates.
