ABC shares 2025 fall TV schedule: See which shows are moving to new nights

ABC is making a few changes to its fall lineup in 2025.
9-1-1 - “Don’t Drink the Water” - Following an earthquake, the 118 races to the scene of several unusual fires and must figure out their cause before anyone else is hurt. Meanwhile, as everyone settles into their new normal, they try to move forward and plan for the future. THURSDAY, MAY 8 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT) on ABC. (Disney/Christopher Willard)

The ABC fall 2025 schedule is out, bringing us the last of the Big 4 networks. Now we can start making plans for the shows we can watch and the shows we’ll need to record or wait for streaming each week.

There are a few shows on the move, but not too many considering the success of the fall 2024 schedule. However, there are two shows notably missing from the fall schedule: Will Trent and The Rookie. Just like with the 2024–2025 TV schedule, the series is being held for the midseason, allowing an almost straight run through to May — there may be one or two weeks of a break like in winter and spring 2025.

So, what’s on in fall 2025? If you were worried about High Potential being held for the midseason, there’s no need to. That series will return, and it will air on Tuesday nights again. It will follow the two-hour episode of Dancing with the Stars. This does make sense considering the show’s success in the timeslot, but it did also work out so well on Tuesdays in the midseason with Will Trent and The Rookie, and I wouldn’t have complained if it was held for the midseason.

High Potential will have more episodes than the 13 it was given for season 1, although ABC hasn’t confirmed the exact episode count just yet, with Deadline noting that “a couple of hours” was mentioned. There are high hopes for this series, as President of the Disney Television Group Craig Erwich shared, “We have so much momentum going with that show, and I actually think it will perform even better next year.”

Thursdays will look similar, but not quite the same. The night will kick off with 911 and will still end with Grey’s Anatomy. It’s the middle slot that will change, as the new 911 spinoff, 911: Nashville, will take over the hour. What about Doctor Odyssey? That’s not been canceled or renewed just yet.

Wednesdays will look different, as The Golden Bachelor and Shark Tank move to that night. The Golden Bachelor originally aired on Thursdays in 2023, while Shark Tank was a Friday night show. They will air straight after the comedy block of Shifting Gears and Abbott Elementary.

Wait, so what’s going on with Mondays and Fridays? Mondays will be all about Monday Night Football, while Fridays will start with Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, before two hours of 20/20. Sunday nights will be packed with The Wonderful World of Disney, which is somewhat similar to the fall 2024 schedule, as Sundays are starting to become the night not to put scripted shows on.

GERRY TURNER
THE GOLDEN BACHELOR - “104” - Gerry Turner’s journey continues with an adventurous one-on-one and a group date that has the women flexing their pickleball skills. Plus, former Bachelorette Trista Sutter and upcoming Bachelor Joey Graziadei appear, making it an unforgettable week. THURSDAY, OCT. 19 (8:22-9:24 p.m. CDT/EDT ONLY; 8:00-9:02 p.m. PDT/MDT), on ABC.
