911 is set to return with its ninth season on ABC this fall, and fans have been speculating about new storylines and whether any surprise crossovers could be on the horizon. Well, we hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you might want to put those crossover hopes on hold for now.

Back in February 2025, ABC gave a series order to the upcoming 911 spinoff series, 911: Nashville. Since then, fans have been hoping that the two shows might eventually cross paths. They were even given hope earlier this month when 911 co-creator Tim Minear hinted in an interview that a crossover could be possible. However, it doesn't look like it will be happening anytime soon.

In a recent interview with TVLine, 911 star Oliver Stark (Buck) confirmed that no crossover with 911: Nashville has been filmed yet. It's unclear where the cast and crew are when it comes to filming, but the cameras officially started rolling on 911 season 9 in late July 2025. Production is likely to finish up sometime in April or May of 2026. Who knows? There are a total of 18 episodes in the ninth season, so maybe a crossover could still happen later down the line. But for right now, the chances of seeing Buck team up with the Nashville crew seem slim.

Stark was recently in Nashville, Tennessee in August 2025. He had shared on his Instagram story a video of himself jogging through the city streets. Given that 911: Nashville films in Nashville, fans quickly speculated that Buck might be making a guest appearance for a crossover episode. However, now we know that's not the case after Stark's statement to TVLine.

It appears his trip to Nashville was personal rather than tied to the show. Or, maybe he's tricking us. Perhaps he told TVLine that the show hadn't shot a crossover yet because it's meant to be a surprise for fans later on. That's something to think about. But it looks like we'll just have to wait until 911 season 9 comes out to know for sure.

If 911 ends up crossing over with 911: Nashville, it won't be the show's first crossover event. The procedural drama previously teamed up with its spinoff 911: Lone Star, as well as the medical series Doctor Odyssey, which existed in the same fictional universe. It would only make sense that its next collaboration was with 911: Nashville.

911 season 9 is scheduled to premiere on ABC on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at 8/7c. 911: Nashville will then premiere right after at 9/8c.
