Don rescues the civilian at the country music festival
The second episode continues directly from the events of the first. Don, Ryan, and Blue rush to rescue a civilian stranded atop the stage. They successfully get him down, and the group—Don, Ryan, Blue, and the civilian—take shelter beneath a banner. Suddenly, strong winds sweep the civilian away, but Don lunges to grab his arm, managing to pull him to safety once again!
The episode then shifts to Cammie helping a pregnant woman and her daughter, trapped in a shed, over the phone. The young girl is Lucy, and her mother is Angela. While Cammie has already sent first responders on the way, Angela is now faced with having to deliver her baby immediately. As Cammie helps Lucy deliver the baby, Lucy discovers that the baby is trapped in the amniotic sac. She tears it open, but the baby isn't breathing. Cammie tells her to give the baby CPR, and it works. The baby starts crying. She's okay! Angela cuddles the baby while Lucy watches with a smile. The first responders arrive and rescue them.
Now, we're taken back to the fire station after the country music festival incident. Taylor and Roxie chat about Blue, while Don heads to his office and finds Blythe waiting there. She’s upset that he didn’t tell her about Blue joining Station 113 as a fire cadet. It’s not that she opposes a relationship between Don and Blue. She’s just suspicious that it might have something to do with Dixie. Don reassures her, emphasizing that his attention is solely on Blue.

Ryan shows Blue around the fire station
As Ryan gives Blue a tour of the fire station, Blue seems to be having a great time, much to Ryan’s surprise. He expected Blue to feel overwhelmed. Their moment is interrupted when Ryan’s wife, Sam, suddenly arrives. While Ryan is glad to see her, Sam doesn’t appear happy. She serves him with divorce papers. Their relationship has clearly been strained for some time, and Sam has reached her breaking point. Ryan tries to persuade her to reconsider, but Sam stands firm, asking him to sign the papers before she leaves the station.
The episode then cuts to Dixie in the studio, struggling to sing a song in the booth. Remember she has polyps that she needs to get surgically removed but she needs the money for it first. Her manager warns her to get the issue fixed fast. Dixie tells him not to worry.
Blythe suddenly shows up at the studio to talk with Dixie. She informs her that she knows about Blue working at the fire station now. But her real reason for being there is to warn Dixie about staying away from Don. She knows she's up to something. She just doesn't know what yet. Dixie is done with their conversation now, so she tells someone to escort Blythe out.
The episode then shifts to a man checking into a hotel suite alone. Though he was previously in a relationship that didn’t work out, he still decides to go ahead with the planned honeymoon in Nashville. While riding a scooter through the city, a sudden storm hits, lifting him off the ground and sending him soaring into the air. Meanwhile, Ryan, Roxie, and Taylor prepare for the next storm at the fire station.
The storm hurls the man into a water tower, where he becomes impaled on a railing. Cammie immediately calls for help, and Station 113 rushes to the scene. Taylor is sent up to the water tower, but can’t reach him. The team’s next move is to bring in a nearby crane to assist. Ryan and Roxie are sent up on a gurney to the top of the water tower.
The storm intensifies, and Cammie warns that time is running out before the situation becomes even more dangerous. As Taylor and the other firefighters struggle to prevent the water tower from collapsing, Ryan works to free the man, while Roxie keeps him calm. The man is eventually freed, and he, Ryan, and Roxie rush to jump on the gurney.
But the storm sends Ryan and Roxie flying into the sky. Fortunately, they land safely on the ground, unharmed. The man is carefully brought down on a gurney, and everyone breathes a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, Blue watches Don and Ryan share a hug and feels a pang of disappointment. He wishes he could have that kind of connection with Don.

Don is badly injured by the storm
As everyone heads back to the station, lightning suddenly strikes Don, knocking him to the ground. Ryan and the others quickly inform Cammie, who directs them to the nearest hospital. In the back of the truck, Ryan tries desperately to resuscitate Don, but it isn’t working. When they arrive at the hospital, Sam and the medical team rush Don inside.
Sam tells Ryan, Taylor, and Blue that they can’t go beyond a certain point, but reassures them that she’ll do everything possible to save him. Blue glances at Ryan, who grimly explains that the lightning struck Don directly through the heart. That's not good at all. This is where the second episode comes to an end.
