Following the recent conclusion of its eighth season on ABC, anticipation is already building for 911 season 9. While an exact premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, the hit procedural drama is set to return this fall, continuing to air in its regular Thursday 8:00 p.m. ET timeslot. The brand-new spinoff, 911: Nashville, is set to premiere right after, taking over the 9:00 p.m. hour. And now, there's even more reason to get excited. According to the show's lead actor, the cameras are about to start rolling soon on the new 911 series. How soon, you ask? We're talking next month!

At Disney Upfront 2025, TVLine had the chance to chat with 911: Nashville star Chris O'Donnell, who shared the exciting news that filming for the new procedural drama will kick off in Nashville this June. Given the show's fall premiere, it makes sense that production is starting soon. That said, it seems like there could be even more exciting announcements on the horizon. While a teaser, plot details, and a release window have been revealed, information about the full cast remains limited.

We know that O'Donnell leads the cast as Captain Don Sharpe, a seasoned firefighter and former rodeo rider who is in charge of a busy Nashville fire station where he works closely with his son. We also know that Grey's Anatomy's Jessica Capshaw plays Blythe Sharpe, Don's wife, who is also the mother to their son. Then, there's Grammy Award-winning country music star LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Nashville, Father of the Bride), who have joined the cast lineup, adding even more star power and talent to the new series.

However, details about their characters have not yet been revealed. These are the only actors who have been attached to this show so far. We have absolutely no idea who will be playing Don and Blythe's son, Ryan, nor do we know who will be working alongside Ryan and Don at the firehouse. Now that production is about to start, it’s only a matter of time before more names join the roster and we get a clearer picture of what to expect. We'll probably finally learn who Rhimes and Williams-Paisley will be playing as well.

911: Nashville is executive-produced by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, Rashad Raisani, Brad Falchuk, and Angela Bassett. The show takes place in Nashville, Tennessee, and follows the personal and professional lives of firefighters, paramedics, and police officers as they respond to a wide range of emergencies, from everyday accidents to large-scale disasters.

As new information about this upcoming ABC series continues to emerge, we'll be sure to share every new update. But for now, you'll have to stay tuned to GeekSided!
