The highly anticipated 911 spinoff, 911: Nashville, is set to start airing on ABC in the fall. With production kicking off in June, we're starting to hear of more and more exciting casting announcements.

Most recently, we learned that three new actors and an influencer have joined the cast. They are Hailey Kilgore (Power Book III: Raising Kanan), Michael Provost (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Juani Feliz (Harlem), and Hunter McVey. Along with their casting announcements, details about their respective roles in the procedural drama have also been revealed. They join previously announced cast members such as series lead Chris O'Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

However, after looking over the character details for each new cast member, we couldn't help but to notice that the spinoff still seems to be missing a key character. This is a character that O'Donnell himself teased early on in an interview with TVLine. The character in question is Ryan Sharpe, who is closely connected to O'Donnell’s role.

In 911: Nashville, O'Donnell takes on the lead role of Captain Don Sharpe, an experienced and committed firefighter who manages a fire station in Nashville. Outside of work, he’s also a rodeo rider. Don and his wife, Blythe Sharpe, have a son named Ryan, who follows in his father's footsteps by working alongside him at the firehouse. However, while Capshaw is confirmed to be playing Blythe, we still don't know for sure who will be portraying Ryan.

Among the latest casting announcements, one new cast member might be portraying this character, though this hasn’t been confirmed. TVLine reports that Provost will play a character named Ryan, described as a firefighter and a "modern-day cowboy." While it’s easy to assume that this Ryan is Don’s son, the absence of any mention of his connection to Don in the casting details raises some questions. The casting doesn't even give the character a last name.

This has led us to wonder if the show might be introducing a completely new character named Ryan, or if there’s more to the story that has yet to be revealed. Based on the character details, it seems like it's the same Ryan because what are the chances that the show would feature two firefighters with the same name? Plus, the fact that the Ryan from the casting is described as a cowboy aligns perfectly with Don's rodeo rider background. But again, nothing has been confirmed. We'll just have to wait for that confirmation.

Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani created 911: Nashville. Serving as the second spinoff of the 911 franchise, the show takes place in Nashville, Tennessee, and focuses on the lives of emergency responders as they deal with dangerous and often life-threatening situations throughout their city.
