June is upon us, and, in a strange turn of events, there are somehow nearly a dozen broadcast shows waiting to learn their fates following May sweeps.
Typically, the broadcast networks will make decisions about their shows by the end of May, leading up to upfronts, when the networks present their programming slates for the upcoming season to advertisers and members of the media. While there are often a few stray shows whose futures are not determined until after upfronts, typically the large majority of shows learn their fates by the time May ends. However, 2025 has not been a typical year.
Surprisingly, there are a whopping nine shows that are still on the bubble and are waiting on decisions. This includes four FOX shows, one ABC show, one NBC show, and three CW shows. The only network that has made decisions on its entire lineup is CBS, which handed out a wave of cancellations early and left fans a bit shocked with some of its choices. But hey, at least they haven’t left fans hanging, so that’s something.
With June’s arrival, it seems likely the remaining broadcast networks are going to have to start making some difficult decisions, which could mean the following nine shows might never be seen again.

Accused
Accused was a breakout hit for Fox when it first premiered in 2023; however, when the show moved to the fall for its second season, it struggled to enjoy the same success. Season 2 brought about a decline in interest in the show, and that decline has put the show on the bubble. Fox seems to have no plans to bring the show back, but it has yet to officially cancel the series, which means this show is likely to be left hanging in limbo or just be quietly canceled.

Alert
Another Fox show in limbo is its Scott Caan-led police drama, which follows the missing persons unit. In its third season, the show made the bold decision to write off its female lead, with Dania Ramirez exiting the show unexpectedly at the top of the season. The move divided fans and left the show’s future up in the air. There is a chance that the show could still get renewed, as Fox noted it was waiting to make a decision on the show until after its finale, which aired on May 27.

All American
There has been a lot of change on The CW in recent years following the network’s sale to Nexstar. Many shows from the old era of The CW were canceled promptly after the sale, while others have since wrapped, leaving All American as the last holdover from the previous leadership. The show’s most recent season served as a soft reboot with many of the original cast leaving to give way for a new class of characters. With these changes, the show’s ratings slipped, but The CW still seems to be invested. There is a chance we could see All American get a final season order, but it’s also possible the show’s seventh season could be its last.

The Cleaning Lady
When The Cleaning Lady first premiered, no one expected it to become a breakout hit. The show has been a strong performer for the network and the show managed to beautifully navigate the unexpected passing of lead Adan Canto, honoring his legacy while finding a way to move forward. Still, it has to be said that the show hasn’t quite been the same without Canto, and fan interest has slipped in the last two seasons. If we had to guess, it seems likely Fox might order a final season of the show to allow it the chance to close out its story with a proper sendoff.

Doctor Odyssey
Heading into the season, Doctor Odyssey was one of the most anticipated new shows of the season, and it started off strong in its premiere. However, the show fell off as the weeks went by, rather than growing in viewership, similar to fellow new drama High Potential. The fact that ABC has not yet canceled the show seems to indicate they see something special in it and are hoping to bring it back; however, with a full schedule and a new Ryan Murphy 911 show entering the mix, we’re worried Doctor Odyssey might have sailed its final voyage on ABC.

Good Cop/Bad Cop
Among The CW’s smaller crop of new original shows this season is the Leighton Meester and Luke Cook-led buddy comedy about a brother and sister duo working as detectives in their local town. The show is a cute and fun spin on the procedural genre, but it hasn’t been the stronger performer in the ratings department. This could result in The CW passing on a second season, as the network has shown a tendency to part ways with underperforming shows.

The Great North
If we’re being honest, the odds of The Great North returning aren’t looking good at all. The show is the sole Fox animated comedy not to be renewed by the network, with the show being looked over as the network instead handed out additional renewals to shows previously renewed. It’s a shame to see the show coming to an end, and we’d love to see the show continue, but it’s just looking highly unlikely.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society
To be completely honest, if Grosse Pointe Garden Society were a streaming original, it likely would have already been renewed for a second season. The show delivered an amazing first season full of fun and unexpected twists, and features an amazing cast. This is a show that felt perfect for streaming, and that is what is keeping it alive at the moment, as discussions continue about it moving to Peacock. We can only hope that Peacock saves the day, as we’re not ready to bid farewell to this series, and it would make for a perfect addition to the Peacock Originals catalog!

Sherlock & Daughter
While Sherlock & Daughter might not be the flashiest of new series and hasn’t gotten a lot of attention from the media, the show has been a really strong performer for The CW. In fact, it’s the network’s second most-watched show behind Wild Cards. For this reason, we’d be shocked if The CW opted not to bring it back for a second season.
Editor's Note: The CW also had three additional shows on the bubble; however, these shows have already been renewed in Canada. The one thing that is unknown is whether The CW will continue to be the US broadcast home to the shows, as it has not formally picked them up stateside. This includes Son of a Critch, Wild Cards, and Sight Unseen.
