7 NBC shows came to an end in 2025 (and we're still salty)

There were some major losses in terms of TV shows in 2025. NBC was one of the most brutal networks of the year, canceling seven of its shows, with many of them being abruptly and after finales had aired. In fact, we’re still salty about some of the cancellations.

As we close in on the end of the year, it’s time to look back at the shows that have been canceled. Here are the seven that we’ve had to say goodbye to.

Found

The worst decision of them all was the cancellation of Found. This missing persons show brought to light so many important topics, including the way certain demographics are ignored by the police and how it often takes people who have been there to understand the way abusers and psychopaths work.

Of course, there was also the discussion of found family and dealing with trauma. Gabi pulled together a team of like-minded individuals, who all had superpowers because of the trauma they had gone through. Without each member of the team, they wouldn’t have worked and saved so many people.

Then there was the topic of Sir and dealing with unresolved trauma. Sometimes, you need to face the bad things you’ve done, and now we’ll always wonder what will come of Gabi after she announced to the world that she had locked up Sir in her basement for months.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society

Sometimes, we just need a fun soapy drama, but it still needs to make sense and compel us to watch. Well, NBC brought us one of those dramas with Grosse Pointe Garden Society. Throughout the first season, we had one mystery to solve: who was Quiche?

There were plenty of twists and turns along the way. We got some surprising reveals, unexpected friendships, and weird reactions to affairs throughout. And no, we did not see the end results as to who Quiche was or even what happened to him!

The series ended with a major cliffhanger, bringing another mystery to solve on season 2. Sadly, that won’t happen as NBC decided not to save it, and despite it performing well on Peacock, the streamer didn’t pick it up either.

The Irrational - Season 2

The Irrational

Now we get to a cancellation we’re sad about. The Irrational was canceled after two seasons, and that cancellation came in weeks after the season finale had aired. It meant a huge cliffhanger that we now will never get a resolution to.

The series brought us a great look at crime, focusing on the psychological behavior of people. We’ve had shows look into something similar, but with a darker twist, such as Criminal Minds and The Hunting Party. This was the first one that really delved into why people act the way they do, and we got to understand how irrational behavior is perfectly rational.

Some of the characters were underused in the second season, so it would have been great to get a third season to see them get the development that they deserved. However, I’m more intrigued by who was stalking Alec. Would Rose get to the bottom of it?

Suits LA - Season 1

Suits LA

Likely a cancellation that we all saw coming, NBC decided not to go ahead with Suits LA. The Suits spinoff just didn’t quite capture the magic of the original series, and to be honest, that’s not surprising. It wasn’t written as a Suits spinoff originally and had to be reworked.

The series focused on Ted, a man who needed to reinvent himself from criminal lawyer to entertainment lawyer. The problem was the industry of entertainment isn’t as compelling as criminal or even some of the business shenanigans that happened with Suits.

We did also get the story of the coop, leading to ethical compromises needing to be made. On top of that, we had a few Suits cameos to help draw in the original fans, but those did feel somewhat forced. This is one of those shows from 2025 that has gone a little forgotten about in the mix of sad and salty cancellations.

Night Court - Season 3

Night Court

Two of NBC’s comedies were cancelled, with Night Court being one of them. The revival of the original 1980s series brought some excellent laughs and homages to the original. This wasn’t an attempt to reboot, but a way to bring the magic and love back to our screens.

Fortunately, the series didn’t end with any major cliffhangers. That’s just not in the nature of most comedies. That doesn’t mean we won’t miss the laughter and the antics of the various characters, who all got some great development over the three seasons. We’ll always wonder what the Wheelers are up to next!

It was certainly a sad cancellation of the year.

Lopez vs Lopez - Season 3

Lopez vs. Lopez

The other cancellation was Lopez vs. Lopez, the comedy starring George Lopez and his daughter Mayan. It was a great look at a somewhat fictionalized telling of their family, focusing on acceptance, reunions, and that deep family bond that can’t be broken.

Like with Night Court, the series delivered some excellent development for the characters. While the family was still completely dysfunctional, there was a lot of love in their lives. They tried to be better family members together, as we watched George and Mayan attempt to make up for lost time.

While some of the parenting advice was unconventional, there may be some to take away — and there is some to completely ignore!

Deal or No Deal Island - Season 2

Deal or No Deal Island

There is a reality show to add onto the list. Deal or No Deal Island became NBC’s last cancellation of 2025, and it was certainly a disappointing one. However, it also wasn’t all that surprising when you consider the drop in the linear ratings for this series.

Deal or No Deal Island brought a mixture of the original game show and Survivor. There were tasks for the individuals to complete, adding money to the potential pot to win. Then one person had to face the Banker. If they won, then they would get to choose who would go home. If they lost, then they would be the ones to go home. It certainly added a new layer to the competition.

With a mixture of civilian and reality celeb contestants in the mix, it created some fun twists and turns. However, in the end, it just wasn’t enough to order a third season, especially with the largest prize to ever be won on national television!
