While we’ve known about Kimberly Williams-Paisley’s involvement in 911: Nashville for months, ABC has been keeping fans in the dark regarding who exactly she’s playing on the show. Well, that mystery has finally been solved!

Although we’re still waiting for an official character description for Williams-Paisley’s character Cammie Raleigh, it’s officially been confirmed that Williams-Paisley will be playing a dispatcher on the show. The confirmation comes courtesy 911 TV News, which debuted the first look at Williams-Paisley’s character which gave us our confirmation that she’ll be playing the show’s primary dispatcher, filling a major role within the 911 formula.

Williams-Paisley’s Cammie is primed to serve as the primary dispatch character on the show, a role that has been filled by the likes of Connie Britton, Sierra McClain, and Jennifer Love Hewitt across the flagship show and its first spinoff, 911: Lone Star. The casting makes perfect sense in that we’ve historically seen a well-known actress hold down the fort at the 911 dispatch center, filling a major role in the show’s formula in giving fans the chance to see not only the first responders who respond to the disasters, but also the dispatchers who are the first line of defense for those in need.

What will be interesting is to see how Williams-Paisley’s character will be connected with the rest of the cast.

In 911, Britton’s character ended up becoming a love interest for Oliver Stark’s character, Buck, while Hewitt’s character is Buck’s older sister. Meanwhile, McClain’s character was married to Jim Parrack’s character, Judd. It’s possible that we could learn that Williams-Paisley’s Cammie is related to or in a relationship with a member of the firehouse team, but maybe 911: Nashville will shake up the format!

In addition to getting a first look at Williams-Paisley’s 911: Nashville, new promotional images have arrived, giving fans a look at the rest of the core cast of ABC’s new 911 spinoff. This includes Chris O’Donnell’s Captain Don Sharpe; Jessica Capshaw as Don’s (O’Donnell) wife, Blythe; and the show’s core group of firefighters played by Juani Feliz, Hailey Kilgore, Hunter McVey, and Michael Provost.

The one character, it seems we’re going to have to wait to formally meet via a first-look photo is LeAnn Rimes’s Dixie Bennings. It’s still unclear how Dixie fits into the mix, but it’s been rumored she’ll be playing the mother of McVey’s character, Blue.

With 911: Nashville premiering Oct. 9, we should see ABC begin ramping up its promotional efforts in the weeks ahead, bringing us new looks at the show, including an official trailer!
