The Winter Olympics are almost here. While this is something fun for many people, it means something bad for those of us who love broadcast TV. Our favorite shows go off the air, and that’s certainly the case for Happy’s Place and Stumble.

NBC will air the Games, as it has had the privilege of doing for a number of Games — both Winter and Summer — in recent years. The network can’t air two things at once, and it means the scripted shows will take a break. Some are going on a break sooner than others!

Happy’s Place and Stumble go off the air in January 2026

Due to the way the weeks fall and when the Winter Olympics begin, the last episodes of Happy’s Place and Stumble will air in January. The two shows are Friday night shows, and the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony takes place on the first Friday of February. So, with that in mind, the shows going off the air in January make sense.

There will be a new episode of both shows tonight, Friday, Jan. 23. There will then be another new episode next Friday, Jan. 30.

That is it until the end of the Winter Olympics. NBC hasn’t confirmed all the return dates for Happy's Place, but we know Stumble is getting a special post-Closing Ceremony slot, but we are expecting both shows to be back to normal on Friday, Feb. 28. After all, most scripted shows will be back that last week of February, with just the odd show, such as Brilliant Minds, being held for the week after.

Don’t forget that with Stumble, there are reruns on Mondays. NBC is trying hard to get this struggling comedy off the ground, and we do highly recommend it!

What to expect on the next episodes of Happy’s Place

Happy’s Place season 2 episode 8 will air on Friday, Jan. 23, and it sees Bobbie getting worried about her friend, Gabby. Gabby is hopeful about her potential pregnancy, but Bobbie doesn’t want her to get her hopes up too much in fear of what the devastation could be like if it doesn’t happen. Meanwhile, Isabella decides it’s time to hire Takoda’s band for the bar. She probably should have checked the type of music his band performs.

Then on the final episode before the Winter Olympics, Bobbie focuses on her and Emmett’s anniversary, and that means planning the perfect dinner. It also leads to a secret, which Steve and Takoda need to hide from Isabella and Gabby, and that’s sure to have a hilarious outcome.

What to expect on the next episodes of Stumble

As for Stumble, the cheerleading comedy will start with Courteney learning that an AI company is looking at Heådltston as its new data center. This could be a huge boost for the town, but Courteney is more focused on what it could mean for her team and the sponsorship that she could receive.

The next episode will continue to follow the AI storyline, as Heådltston is drained of water and power thanks to the technology. It leads the cheer team to disband for a while, and Courteney will need her husband, Boon, to help save the day!

Happy’s Place and Stumble will air on Friday, Jan. 23 and Friday, Jan. 30 and then break until after the Winter Olympics.
