Wells Adams warns Bachelor in Paradise will be a season full of 'lots of changes'

We already knew some changes were to be expected, but according to Wells Adams, Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise will have plenty of shakeups.

Wells Adams has been a staple for Bachelor in Paradise fans for years now. While he is technically the bartender, his role is far more than that. He offers advice and plays a role as cohost with lead host Jesse Palmer. In fact, in many ways, he is the face of the spinoff franchise.

The show's defining characteristic is drama, and that is certainly not expected to change this season. In fact, production relies on it. There is a reason that they cast so many past contestants who have history with each other; they want to feed the flames. That said, while drama will certainly be in abundance, Wells has hinted that many other things will be changing.

So what exactly is Wells referring to? He remained tight-lipped in some areas, but we have at least an idea of a few of the changes heading our way.

In an exclusive interview with Extra, Wells teased many of the shakeups headed our way for Bachelor in Paradise season 10. One of the first of these changes is the location itself. Gone are the classic beaches of Mexico, and in are the modern accommodations of Costa Rica.

“There's going to be a lot of changes in ‘Paradise’ this season. One of them is a brand-new location, which it looks freaking beautiful… very hot,” he said.

While Wells does play bartender, he admits his strength is actually in the advice he gives to others.

“I'm invested in their relationships because I'm with them and kind of like sherpa-ing them through this weird experience, so, yeah, for me, I like to be involved with it, and I've made some amazing friends.”

That said, a second change is actually coming behind the bar, as Hannah Brown, one of the most popular Bachelorettes in the franchise's history, is also taking a spot alongside him, dishing out tasty beverages in the new 'Champagne Lounge'. For Hannah, it is a chance for her to offer a unique, female perspective to the cast, as someone who has been on the side of handing out roses.

She shared advice for the new contestants looking for love, too.

“This experience is unlike anything else they’ll ever do in their lives, so, really just lean into that… I really do think that you have an opportunity to grow as a person and also find love here, so I’m just so excited to be a part of this experience to hopefully push them through the tough moments… I think it’s going to be really fun, especially if they just lean fully into the experience.”

These are the only changes that were explicitly outlined, although Wells promises many other shifts and exciting moments as well. As far as what makes the show last?

“I think it needs to be a combination of both [drama and love]. I think you need to have some drama and you need to have some love, and I think the thing that always wins in ‘Paradise’ is laughter.”

While neither of the revealed changes is new or earth-shattering, it does speak to shifts for the milestone 10th season. While the wrapping may look different, though, the core package inside is the same. Love, drama, and hopefully some personal growth and laughter, too. Tune in to the Bachelor in Paradise premiere, coming July 7 to ABC.
