As broadcast television fans, we're usually accustomed to renewals and cancellations coming toward the end of the TV season in May. During these unpredictable times in the television landscape, with streaming and all kinds of widespread changes, it's always a welcome surprise when networks decide to announce some good news earlier then expected.
In the past, CBS has been known to announce renewal decision early than most networks, and that's exactly what the network did on Jan. 22, 2026. If you're a fan of the network's original programming, then you most likely received some exciting news. CBS renewed 10 of its shows, spanning comedies and dramas, including the No. 1 comedy on both the network and overall TV.
Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage renewed for season 3
In case you weren't able to guess what the No. 1 comedy on television is, it's Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, which will officially be back for season 3. CBS revealed the renewal while the sitcom remains on hiatus following the two-episode midseason finale on Dec. 18. The second season returns with new episodes after the Olympics on Thursday, Feb. 26.
Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season 3 will likely follow suit with the show's two previous seasons and make its premiere on CBS in October 2026. Again, like the first two seasons, season 3 will also more than likely contain a full-season order of 22 episodes, though the episode count could waver in either direction depending on the network's programming needs.
In the CBS press release for the 10 series renewals, the network touts that its home to five of the Top 10 most-watched entertainment series on television. It's also home to 11 of the Top 20 most-watched entertainment series on television, too. Those figures include Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, which ranks as not only the No. 1 comedy series on CBS but on overall broadcast TV, per CBS.
As the second spinoff of The Big Bang Theory and the sequel to prequel series Young Sheldon, it's no surprise that Georgie & Mandy has found immediate and sustained success. While it's markedly different from Young Sheldon as a multi-cam sitcom, all of the same ingredients are in play and continues to exude delightful levity and comforting humor we need right now.
Since Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season 3 was just announced, there aren't any additional details to share, like what to expect from the new season and casting updates.
