Could we be about to see Fitz and Olivia reunite on-screen? Not just yet, it seems, but Tony Goldwyn is doing his best to bring fans a Scandal reunion via his current role on Law & Order.
While celebrating the show’s 25th season during a special celebration of the Law & Order franchise in January, Goldwyn, who plays DA Nicholas Baxter on the long-running series, revealed he’s trying to get his Scandal co-star Kerry Washington to make a guest appearance on the show. The holdup? Well, aside from her busy schedule filming hits such as Netflix’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, it seems the biggest hurdle has been that Washington is based in L.A. which is literally across the country from where Law & Order films.
“I’ve been bugging Kerry Washington to come, but she has three kids and lives in L.A., so that’s hard,” Goldwyn admitted of his efforts to reunite with his Scandal co-star speaking to TV Insider.
We can only hope that Goldwyn’s persistence might someday pay off as it would be absolutely amazing to see him share the screen with Washington once again. Just imagine how insane it would be to see Washington guest star as a high-profile defense attorney facing off with DA Baxter in the courtroom (and out of it).
It would be a can’t-miss episode for Scandal fans who have been longing to see the former co-stars reunite on-screen.
Law & Order has already managed to bring in a few of Goldwyn’s former Scandal co-stars into the mix as guest stars including Katie Lowes and Joshua Malina. While Washington is at the top of his mind for a guest spot there is another Scandal co-star that Goldwyn also thinks would be a great fit: Scott Foley, who played Fitz’s on-screen friend turned adversary Jake Ballard.
“I should bug Scott. He’s on another show, but maybe he’d come. That’d be great,” Goldwyn commented of the idea of convincing Foley to make a guest appearance.
Foley is indeed a very busy man these days splitting his time between multiple projects including ABC’s Will Trent, which kicked off its fourth season this January.
Only time will tell if Goldwyn’s efforts prove successful, but we certainly would love to see him share the screen once more with Washington and Foley. Here’s hoping Law & Order will be able to stage a Scandal reunion between Goldwyn and his former co-stars sometime in the near future!
Law & Order airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.
