Say it ain't so! In a surprising move that no one saw coming, a star from The Office has announced he’s quitting comedy for good to follow a bigger dream. His shocking announcement left fans stunned and eager to know what this mysterious new path could be.

Craig Robinson is best known for starring as Darryl Philbin in The Office. For nine seasons of the hit NBC workplace comedy, he had audiences laughing with his deadpan delivery. Since the show's ending, he has taken on numerous other comedy projects, including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Mr. Robinson, Ghosted, Big Mouth and Killing It.

Now, he's just revealed to the world that he’s officially stepping away from comedy to focus on a new venture. One that he calls his true calling and promises is something huge. On June 30, Robinson shared a video on his Instagram where he announced the decision directly to fans, thanking them for their support over the years and teasing the exciting journey ahead.

"Hey, everybody! Just wanted you to hear it from me: I am quitting comedy. But not for nothing. It’s been an amazing run, and y’all have been amazing and wonderful, but I’m following something bigger. So, thank you so much, I love you and stay tuned.”

While he didn't reveal exactly what the new endeavor is, he seemed to hint later in a follow-up video that it involves starting his own small business with his friends. However, he hasn't shared specifics yet. He even asked fans for advice, suggesting he’s new to the field. Of course, this has only made people more curious and eager to find out what kind of business venture could inspire him to step away from comedy after such a successful run. But it looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer for answers.

Although Robinson has quit comedy, we can still expect to see him in a few more upcoming comedy movies. On Aug. 1, 2025, The Bad Guys 2 is slated to be released in theaters. Robinson voices the character of Mr. Shark in the film. Then, there's the Netflix animated movie In Your Dreams, which is scheduled to be released on Nov. 14, 2025. Robinson takes on the voice role of Baloney Tony.

Another upcoming comedy project of his is the animated movie The Ark and the Aardvark. This film doesn't currently have a release date, but it's expected to come out sometime in 2026. Last but not least is the psychedelic stoner comedy Toad, where he plays a crime lord. This movie is still in the process of being made, so there isn't a release window or date yet.
