Last week on The Masked Singer, we watched as High Voltage, Galaxy Girl, Eggplant, and Pangolin took to the stage for Ozzfest Night, a night dedicated to celebrating the life and music of Ozzy Osbourne. The special celebration welcomed Masked Singer alum Kelly Osbourne to the detective panel to try to piece together the night’s clues and figure out who is under the masks of the remaining contestants.
After a night of incredible performances, we watched as Eggplant was eliminated from the competition, with When Calls the Heart and Melrose Place star Jack Wagner being unmasked.
This week, we go from celebrating the Godfather of Heavy Metal to Care Bears Night, where the celebrities will sing their hearts out and bare their feelings in hopes of securing a place in the semifinals! So who managed to punch their card to the semifinals, and who was unmasked by the end of the night? Let’s dive into The Masked Singer season 14, episode 9!

The Masked Singer season 14 episode 9 recap
Pangolin opened the night with a performance of “What a Feeling (Flashdance)” by Irene Cara, that knocked the socks off the panel, with Jenny telling Pangolin she’d see her in the finale. For her colossal clue, we saw Pangolin in the same room as Christina Perri at the same time as it was explained that their girls' nights have been some of the most meaningful and fun nights of her career. This threw out Jenny’s theory that Pangolin was Christina Perri which led to guesses that ranged from Jennifer Nettles to Sara Bareilles to Vanessa Carlton.
Next up was High Voltage performing “Bad Day” by Daniel Powter which was full of joy per Rita. For their colossal clue, High Voltage revealed the biggest clue about their identity had been staring the panel in the face this whole time as he pointed out that he loves a little country, knows how to make an entrance, and has been feeling 22 for a long time — a reference to the 22 on his costume. While the reference seemed to be a jersey number, the panel’s guesses came in a bit all over the place, with a focus on country music and Taylor Swift, leading to guesses that included Dax Shepard, Travis Kelce, and Big or Rich of Big & Rich fame.
Pugcasso took to the stage next to perform “Dreams” by The Cranberries. It was an emotional performance that Ken described as turning his grumpy frown upside down in what he called his favorite performance for the night. For his colossal clue, Pugcasso threw an Olympic-sized curveball as he reflected on how the Olympics changed his life forever. Despite the Olympics clue hinting at an athlete, the panel all threw out singer names that include Gavin DeGraw, Jason Mraz, and Pat Monahan.
Closing out the night’s performance was Crane with a rendition of “Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappell Roan with a vocal that Robin noted truly set her apart from the rest of the performers. Crane’s colossal clue revealed she has a real reason to love football, and Crane noted that she just kicked off her next chapter with a major win. Ken leaped to guessing that Crane is Taylor Swift, and Rita then guessed Normani, which Jenny seconded as the frontrunner.

Who went home on The Masked Singer on Care Beat Night?
Following the results, the first two singers moving right on to the semifinals were revealed to be Crane and Pugcasso. This sent Pangolin and High Voltage entering a Care Bear Royale as the pair performed for their place in the competition, singing “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters. It was a tight battle between the pair, but in the end it was Pangolin who secured their place in the semifinals, with High Voltage being eliminated from the show.
Ahead of the final guesses, the crack-the-case clue case twist returned. Inside High Voltage’s crack-the-case briefcase was a pair of golden cleats, pointing towards an athlete. With their final guesses, Robin landed on Tom Brady, Jenny guessed Julian Edelman, Rita locked in Jason Sudeikis, as Ken stuck with Travis Kelce.
So who was under High Voltage’s mask? That would be soccer star and broadcaster Alexi Lalas. The character's costume indeed contained several clues to his identity, including the soccer ball within the character's lightbulb head and the 22 on his costume, which was a nod to his jersey number 22.
