The Masked Singer is all about good vibes. The judges are having fun, so is the audience and host Nick Cannon. It is, however, a competition at the end of the day, which means someone is set to go home the loser. This was the case with fan favorite performer Boogie Woogie.
Boogie (aka Andy Grammer) was the runner up to Pearl during the season 13 finale, and did such an excellent job each week that the celebrity under the Pearl mask (and overall winner), Gretchen Wilson, admitted that she actually felt bad besting him!
Gretchen Wilson thought Boogie would win

Wilson told People Magazine that her instincts as a man led to her victory having a tinge of guilt. "Being a mom, I felt bad," she explained. "It was like, 'No, no, no, no, no, no, I'm happy with second! He won!' I think that's probably how he would've felt, too. He's just such an incredibly, incredibly likable person. I wished I could have shared it with him."
Furthermore, the country superstar felt that Grammer had actually secured his victory weeks prior to the season 13 finale. She was so impressed with his performances that she thought her best chance was to end up in second place. "I was so stunned," Wilson noted. "Because I had myself ready to hear that I was second place. I was so ready for it, I had already decided that that's what it should be in my head."
Fortunately for Wilson, the decision was flipped, and she took home the Golden Mask trophy. Wilson is an established superstar in the country world, having sold 8 million records worldwide and scored a number one single on the country charts with 2004's "Redneck Woman." A single that she played at the very end of the Masked Singer finale.
Wilson considers her victory a 'comeback'

Wilson has nothing left to prove as a performer, but she feels that winning the singing competition has given her a second wind nonetheless. She told People the victory was a "comeback moment," and voiced excitement at what the future holds for her. "I'm ready to take on anything."
Wilson also appreciated the fact that she was allowed to showcase different facets of her persona during the season, given that she was disguised, and able to get away from the "Redneck Woman" moniker that fans have applied to her. "That was important to me," she explained. "I want people to see that..."
Gretchen Wilson is the first country star to win The Masked Singer since LeAnn Rimes in season 4. Andy Grammer, who was just as surprised as the rest of the world when Wilson was revealed to be Pearl, told Gold Derby that he was disappointed he didn't win, but maintained that he still had a lot of "fun" in the Boogie Woogie costume.
