The Amazing Race's next season might be the ultimate Big Brother crossover event

The newest cast for CBS's popular race around the world is star-studded with former Big Brother players, and this may become the best crossover we have seen.

The Amazing Race is one of the longest-standing reality competition television shows, having first come out in 2001, just one year after Survivor. While it hasn't had quite the same viewing success over the long term as Survivor and Big Brother, the show has still managed to last 37 seasons and counting.

The premise has always been quite intriguing; pairs of players from all walks of life and all connections (including, one season, blind date strangers, literally) take on a race across the world, with challenges, twists, and turns, and eventually, one pair wins the race and $1 million. While there have been dips and bumps in the road with long layoffs between seasons recently, fans still tune in.

One of the decisions that casting has made over the years is to bring CBS reality stars from other shows on The Amazing Race. These pairs include Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich, Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson, Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas, Bret LaBelle and Chris Hammons, and Corinne Kaplan and Eliza Orlins. This upcoming season, though, may end up being the greatest crossover of all.

Seasons of The Amazing Race often have a theme or a twist of some sort. Some have been more bold than others, including the season where it was all CBS reality show all-stars. This concept is reemerging, only for season 38, the only all-stars come from Big Brother. Also, unlike the previous concept, almost all the pairs are matched with one Big Brother player and one real-life family or friend.

This crossover, though, may be the best one yet. Big Brother house guests have actually had a lot of success on the Amazing Race historically. Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf won The Amazing Race 30, while Derek Xiao and Claire Rehfuss won The Amazing Race 34. Many other pairs made it to the end.

Therefore, this collection ought to make for a great race. It is not just the fact that Big Brother is taking over the theme, though. It is also about who is rumored to be on the cast. The collection, although missing several fan favorites, still boasts a group that is arguably better than the last All-Star cast Big Brother itself put together.

Among the cast are three former Big Brother winners, some of the stronger ones in recent memory at that. Chelsie Baham from Big Brother 26, Jag Bains from Big Brother 25, and Taylor Hale from Big Brother 24 all reportedly dot the cast. A couple of other highlights include fan favorites Tucker Des Lauriers from BB26 and Hannah Chaddha from BB23.

Keep in mind, the list found below is only a rumor. While many very reliable reality television sources have confirmed it, nothing is official until CBS makes the call. That said, given that many people saw these teams out in public around Europe racing, it seems pretty safe to say that these are indeed the teams.

There is a big focus on recent seasons, with only one player on the cast who played the game exclusively before the 20s (Enzo originally played season 12, but came back for season 22 All-Stars). There were many players that fans would have liked to see on the show that did not make the cut, but the collection is still filled with big personalities that should make the season interesting.
