If you've been waiting for more updates on the upcoming SWAT spinoff series, SWAT Exiles, we finally have some exciting news. The show has officially set its main cast!
When the spinoff was first announced back in May 2025, the only main cast member confirmed was Shemar Moore, reprising his iconic role as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson from the original CBS series. Fans were hoping that more OG cast members might return as well. Their wishes were then granted on Sept. 8, when news broke that SWAT stars Jay Harrington and Patrick St. Esprit would appear as guest stars in the pilot episode of SWAT Exiles. They are set to reprise their respective roles as Sergeant David “Deacon” Kay and Commander Robert Hicks from the original series in the spinoff.
But who will join Moore as series regulars in SWAT Exiles? According to Variety, the main cast also includes Lucy Barrett, Adain Bradley, Zyra Gorecki, Freddy Miyares, and Ronen Rubinstein. If you're a faithful watcher of broadcast TV, some of these names might sound familiar. For example, Barrett starred in The CW's Charmed reboot, playing a character named Mikaela. She was also in the horror flicks Sissy and Deep Water.
Bradley is known for previously starring as Xander Avant in the long-running CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful and as Dane Kohler in The CW's All American. Gorecki, on the other hand, is best known for her previous role as Izzy Harris in the NBC sci-fi drama La Brea. Last but not least, you might recognize Rubinstein from his previous role as T.K. Strand in Fox's 911: Lone Star. However, it's currently unknown who each actor will play in the crime drama series.
SWAT Exiles begins with Hondo coming out of forced retirement to lead a new, experimental SWAT team made up of inexperienced and unpredictable young recruits. While guiding the recruits, Hondo has to manage conflicting personalities, overcome generational differences, and mold this group of outsiders into a unified, effective SWAT team that's capable of protecting the city of Los Angeles.
Jason Ning is showrunner and executive producer, with Moore, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, James Scura, and Jon Cowan also executive producing. Sony Pictures Television is producing the 10-episode first season of SWAT Exiles. Kevin Tancharoen, known for helming episodes for shows like Mortal Kombat: Legacy and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., will reportedly direct the first episode. However, the series does not currently have a network or streaming platform attached.
The only other details released about this upcoming crime drama are that production is set to begin in late September in Los Angeles and will feature the same crew from the original series.
