Since the new year officially began, TV fans have been spoiled with new episodes of their favorite shows. Some broadcast series had been off the air since the holiday season began, and a few had even been away since November. New episodes have been steadily trickling in since January arrived, but St. Denis Medical is about to take its first week off in 2026.
The second season of NBC's hit medical comedy series returned on Jan. 5 after airing its final episode of 2025 on Dec. 15. St. Denis Medical aired another new episode on Jan. 12, which officially put the 18-episode season 2 over the halfway point. After its upcoming break, the season will have only eight more new episodes left to air before the season finale.
St. Denis Medical isn't new on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026
As mentioned above, St. Denis Medical unfortunately won't air a new episode on NBC on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026. Additionally, because a new episode isn't airing on NBC, there won't be an episode added to Peacock on Jan. 20 for those who watch the series via streaming. There's a good reason why a new episode isn't on NBC's schedule, and we also already know when the show is back.
Because Jan. 19 marks the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, you will find very few new episodes airing across the networks. When you flip through the channels on Monday night, you'll a vast number of repeats and special airings, which is likely in observance of the holiday and because most people have the day off from school and work.
As for what's airing on NBC, you won't be able to watch a rerun of St. Denis Medical on Monday night. The network will be airing a full day of NBA basketball games. Beginning from the 2 p.m. ET timeslot, basketball games take over the network's schedule. That's great news for basketball fans, but it's not quite how television fans were hoping to start their week.
St. Denis Medical's timeslot will feature the Boston Celtics vs. Detroit Pistons game at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 19. If you're looking to get your fix of the medical comedy, all 10 current episodes of season 2 are now streaming on Peacock. It's the perfect time to catch up on any episodes you might have missed if you have gotten behind at the start of the new year.
But don't get too comfortable with the week off. St. Denis Medical returns with a new episode the following week on Monday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. ET as normal. Another new episode airs the following week on Feb. 2, though there could be more preemptions coming soon with the Olympics set to begin on Feb. 6 and run through Feb. 22 on NBC.
