This news comes just a little over a week after the complete cast lineup for the fifty-first season was announced.
SNL season 51 hosts

SNL season 51 is scheduled to premiere on NBC this October. The exact premiere date is Oct. 4. On this date, fans can look forward to seeing Grammy Award-winning artist Bad Bunny return as host. This will be his second time hosting the sketch comedy series. He previously hosted and served as the musical guest for the second episode of SNL season 49 back in October 2023. In this episode, he performed some of his songs like "Un Preview" and "Monaco."
Bad Bunny also served as a musical guest for the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special. In addition, he came back as a musical guest for the twentieth episode of SNL season 50.
The next host for SNL season 51 is Amy Poehler. She will take the SNL stage as host on Oct. 11. While some people might know Poehler for her acting work, others might remember her as being a longtime SNL cast member and one of the show’s most beloved alumni. She's only ever hosted the sketch comedy by herself once, and that was for the first episode of SNL season 36. Additionally, she returned to co-host the ninth episode of SNL season 41 with fellow SNL alumni Tina Fey. Her appearance on the Oct. 11 episode will mark her third time hosting the show.
The only other known celebrity set for hosting duties for SNL season 51 at this time is well-known singer-songwriter and actress Sabrina Carpenter. She will take the stage on Oct. 18. This will be her first time hosting the sketch comedy, having previously served as musical guest for SNL season 49 and the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special.
