Quantum Leap, the short-lived continuation/revival sci-fi drama of the popular 1990s original of the same name, will be leaping to a new home on Netflix!
For the fans (including me) who want to revisit all the historic journeys Dr. Ben Song and his team experienced, we've been granted another trip! For those who will be checking out the NBC original for the first time, you're in for a special treat!
When NBC axed the Quantum Leap revival in 2024 after a two-season run, fans were furious, as it offered something different than just your average time travel show. Quantum Leap offered an in-depth look at the personal effects of the leaps, seeing how the team has never actually experienced the events when they initially occurred.
The talent behind the characters was as substantial as the narratives, for they were the ones who brought life to them. You had Raymond Lee, who embodied his role of Dr. Ben Song perfectly, and Caitlin Bassett, who integrated her real-life army training into her role of Addison Augustine to help create a strong female character with vulnerability. Then, there's Mason Alexander Park, a nonbinary performer who brought their unique style into Ian, the chief architect of the Quantum Leap program.
Last but not least, Ernie Hudson starred as Herbert "Magic" Williams, who was the program's boss and took pleasure in seeing his employees succeed by offering them appropriate guidance.
Joining the team for season two was The 100 alumna Eliza Taylor, who portrayed Ben's love interest, Hannah Carson, who also saw her life unfold in a historical manner. She quickly became a fan favorite, and to add to the equation, Hannah was a woman of science

Quantum Leap is coming to Netflix in August
At first, I was skeptical about one of my favorite shows making the move to the streamer, as it sounded too good to be true. Additionally, shortly after the cancellation, the complete series was removed from NBC's streaming service, Peacock, along with the Scott Bakula original. This situation left fans with no choice but to purchase individual episodes through either Apple TV or Amazon, or buy the entire series on DVD, which was released earlier this year.
But now, fans don't have to worry about that, because as we said, Quantum Leap will be coming to Netflix. According to Netflix, you can stream all 31 episodes of the series on Aug. 14. Its predecessor has made its home on the platform, so it makes perfect sense for the revival to join.
As if you need more proof, several of the revival's stars, including Park, shared the good news (and fortune) on their respective Instagram pages. Park, in particular, called their experience on the show "an extraordinary experience and their former co-stars "a beautiful group of people."
Here's to hoping Quantum Leap performs well on Netflix next month!
