Today is the day! Netflix has finally added a much-loved CBS comedy series to its platform, marking the first time it has ever streamed the show and giving fans old and new a chance to binge every hilarious and heartfelt episode.
We're talking about Mom, the sharp, funny, and deeply relatable series starring Anna Faris and Allison Janney. We first learned of this beloved show coming to Netflix back in early June. At the time, it was announced that some seasons of Mom would be making their way to the streaming platform on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
We found out later that month, when the streamer released its full July 2025 lineup, that the entire series would be released on Netflix on that date. And that's exactly what happened. All eight seasons of Mom are available to stream on Netflix right now. However, it's important to mention that the series won't remain on the streaming platform forever.
It's not a Netflix original. Instead, it's a licensed series from Warner Bros. Television. That means its availability on the platform depends on the terms of the licensing agreement and could change over time. Given that the show has just been added to Netflix, a departure date has not been announced yet. However, we strongly recommend starting to watch sooner rather than later to avoid missing out, as licensed shows can sometimes leave streaming platforms unexpectedly. We'll fill you in as soon as we hear about its departure.

Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky, and Gemma Baker created Mom. Described as a comedy-drama sitcom, the show aired on CBS for eight seasons before wrapping up in May 2021. It revolves around Christy Plunkett, a recovering alcoholic and single mother, as she navigates sobriety, works to rebuild her relationships with her family, and faces the everyday challenges of raising her two children, all while relying on the support of her equally flawed but loving mother, Bonnie.
Faris, who is best known for starring in the Scary Movie films and other comedy projects, takes on the lead role of Christy. On the other hand, Janney plays Bonnie, Christy's mom, who is also a recovering alcoholic. You might recognize Janney from her other roles in TV shows such as The West Wing, Masters of Sex and The Diplomat.
Joining Faris and Janney in the cast are Sadie Calvano, Nate Corddry, Matt Jones, French Stewart, Spencer Daniels, Blake Garrett Rosenthal, Mimi Kennedy, Jaime Pressly, and many others.
Besides Netflix, you can currently stream Mom on Hulu. The series will likely remain on Hulu even after it leaves Netflix. So, that's good to know.
