Jennifer Morrison has taken on many different roles throughout her long and impressive career! From a doctor on House, Savior/princess on Once Upon a Time, and even Captain Kirk's mother in the Star Trek universe. She can definitely do it all. So now, what about playing a character living in the White House? That's what she's set to do in The Night Agent season 3 on Netflix!
According to TVLine, Morrison is set to play the new First Lady in The Night Agent season 3. This is definitely going to be a major and key role in the upcoming third season. In the season 2 finale, we saw that Governor Richard Hagan (Ward Horton), basically rigged the presidential election. With Robert Patrick dropping out of the race, this basically alluded to the fact that we're going to see the governor become president now.
That's basically been confirmed as Horton has been upped to a series regular role for the third season, Deadline reports. We only saw the character once in the final episode of season 2. But he clearly has more story to play out as the President of the United States!
And although Netflix has been tight-lipped about Morrison's role in all of this, I think it's safe to assume that she's set to play his onscreen wife given she's the new First Lady in the White House. However how often and how many episodes she'll be in exactly is still unknown.
I'm really excited about this casting news because I've been a fan of Morrison's for years. I'm a huge Oncer, even after all this time, and Emma Swan from OUAT is seriously one of the best television characters. And that in big part has to do with Morrison's portrayal of the iconic character. She's so multi-talented and as mentioned above, she really does have the ability to take on so many roles.
With her being the First Lady, I'm sure she needs to bring poise and diplomacy to her character. As the governor was willing to take shortcuts to win, I wonder if she's similar to her husband. Or is she sort of in the dark about how they'll get there? We'll find out soon!
The Night Agent season 3 has wrapped filming, so if you're eager to see Morrison soon there's good news there. However, even so, the action thriller series most likely won't be debuting on Netflix until 2026. Let's hope it's at least an early 2026 release date!
