The 911 season 9 premiere is just around the corner, and it means we’re getting to know a few teases of what to expect. There have already been a lot about this series, but now Oliver Stark is sharing something that many not a lot of people are going to like.
On a personal level, Buck’s love life has constantly come up. At first, it was focused on women, and then he realized that he is bisexual, and so, the focus was on that. It has, arguably, led to a lack of growth for his character in other ways, and now 911 season 9 is going to see a change.

Buck isn’t in the right place for love in 911 season 9
At the end of season 8, he and Tommy weren’t back together, but they were on somewhat friendly terms. Tommy’s heart broke for Buck, as he watched Buck fall apart after Bobby’s death on the camera. Poor Tommy was unable to do anything for Buck in that moment, but you could tell that he just wanted to hold him.
Of course, the topic of Buddie came up in the show, with Tommy jealous of Eddie, sure that the two were a thing. Tommy wasn’t the only one, either, with Maddie also sure that her brother was into his best friend, but Buck made it clear that a) they are just friends and b) Eddie isn’t into men.
After all of this, Buck realized that maybe he needs to be happy being alone. That’s something to work on, and Stark shares that Buck isn’t in a place for love just yet. When talking with TVLine, Oliver Stark was asked about what could be coming in the love department for Buck. Buck is still dealing with grief, and we all know that healing isn’t linear. In fact, that’s something Stark has also teased in a previous interview.
“I don’t know that it’s necessary in his life right now, but if something happens to come along, that’s great.”

There will be more with Eddie and Christopher, though
Despite Buck’s love life taking a bit of a break in terms of story, we will see other relationships in his life blossom. With Eddie and Christopher now back in Los Angeles, there will be a chance for the trio to hang out on screen again. Two of the most important relationships in his life are with Eddie and Christopher.
Stark didn’t share too much about what’s to come for the trio, but there is “some of that” to come, at least. Since Buck isn’t looking for love, it could likely rule out Buddie. But you know what they say: love hits when you least expect it.
“Those are two very important relationships, so to speak, and I know for sure that there will be some of that coming up as we move forward.”
911 season 9 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 8/7c on ABC.
