The next chapter of the Yellowstone saga officially has a premiere date on CBS, and it's time to mark your calendars! As the network unveiled its midseason premiere dates for 2026, CBS revealed when fans can watch Luke Grimes back in action as Kayce Dutton in Y: Marshals. There's still a fair amount of waiting to go, but it's surely going to be worth every single second.
Y: Marshals premieres on Sunday, March 1 at 8/7c on CBS, leading off a three-hour block of action-packed television that also includes Tracker at 9/8c and Watson at 10/9c. The series will also be available to stream on Paramount+, with a live option available for subscribers with a premium subscription and new episodes on Mondays, the day after their airing.
Even though we were definitely hoping the new Yellowstone spinoff would premiere earlier in the new year, perhaps even in January 2026, CBS seemingly made the decision to push most of its original scripted series out of January for a very smart reason. By avoiding January premieres, CBS has made way for the millions who will be tuning into the Winter Olympics.

As mentioned above, Y: Marshals reunites Yellowstone fans with Luke Grimes as his fan-favorite character Kayce Dutton. After leaving Dutton Ranch behind, Kayce takes on a new path by joining a team of U.S. Marshals who are devoted to protecting Montana. The series takes more of a procedural slant than its predecessors, making for a different flavor in the franchise.
In addition to Grimes in the leading role, the main cast of Y: Marshals also includes Gil Birmingham, Mo Brings Plenty, Brecken Merrill, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, and Logan Marshall-Green. A number of these cast members are reprising characters we have already met, while others are new characters further fleshing out Kacye's new world in the spinoff.
The first season of Y: Marshals is expected to contain 13 episodes, which should hopefully mean that CBS will air the series uninterrupted in order wrap up with its season finale by May 2026. Otherwise, there will be new episodes bleeding into June, but that probably isn't a bad thing to fans! Who would turn down the spinoff airing for a little bit longer, even if it means a couple weeks of reruns?
Leading up to the series premiere in March, CBS should soon drop photos, previews, teasers, and trailers for Y: Marshals and start to ramp up promotion to make sure everyone knows that a new chapter of Yellowstone begins very, very soon. If you need one last binge-watch of the original series, now's the time to sneak it in, but just make sure you're ready for Kayce's comeback!
