Are you ready to hear some good news? Paramount+ just announced the official premiere date for its highly anticipated NCIS spinoff series, NCIS: Tony & Ziva. With this new show premiering in the fall, we can already tell it's going to be one of the most talked-about TV events of the season. Not only is it part of the long-running and popular NCIS franchise, but it also centers on two of the most beloved characters in the show's history. It's bound to draw in longtime fans and new viewers alike.
The exact premiere date for NCIS: Tony & Ziva is Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025. According to a Paramount+ press release, the first three episodes of the season will drop on this date. Then, one new episode will be released every Thursday until the season 1 finale, which is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025.
The first season consists of 10 episodes, so there will be much for viewers to watch and enjoy. You just want to make sure to add this show to your watchlist. That way, you won't miss a single moment of Tony and Ziva's thrilling return to the NCIS universe.
Initially, we thought NCIS: Tony & Ziva would premiere a little earlier than September. We thought it would be released in August after Paramount executives mentioned during their Q1 2025 earnings call that the show was planned for an August 2025 release. However, it looks like the official premiere has been pushed back to early September. The reason is unknown, but it may be related to the fact that NCIS, NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney will all be returning with new seasons in the fall.
Although NCIS: Tony & Ziva is a Paramount+ series, and the other NCIS shows just listed above air on CBS, Paramount might have pushed the new spinoff's release to early September to better coordinate the franchise’s overall schedule. NCIS, NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney are expected to return in late September or early October. With NCIS: Tony & Ziva now premiering in early September, fans will have so much NCIS content to enjoy throughout the fall.
John McNamara created NCIS: Tony & Ziva. He also serves as showrunner and executive producer. The show is a police procedural that sees the return of original NCIS cast members Michael Weatherly as Anthony DiNozzo and Cote de Pablo as Ziva David. Also in the cast are Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Lara Rossi, Isla Gie, Nassima Benchicou, Terence Maynard, Julian Ovenden, and James D’Arcy.
Here's what NCIS: Tony & Ziva is about via a Paramount+ press release:
"NCIS: TONY & ZIVA picks up after Ziva’s supposed death when Tony left the NCIS team to go raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then – and where we find them in NCIS: TONY & ZIVA – Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after."
Now that we have the official premiere date, an official trailer should be dropping next. It'll probably come out sometime in August. Once Paramount+ releases it, we'll make sure to share it right away. So, stay tuned to GeekSided!
