After seven weeks of new episodes, there is some bad news for Brilliant Minds fans. However, there is a glimmer of light in the middle of the darkness.

There isn’t a new episode of Brilliant Minds season 2 on tonight, Monday, Nov. 10. As the promo for the next episode said, the show is taking a short break. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, as we know exactly when the series will return.

Why isn’t Brilliant Minds new tonight?

There isn’t a clear reason behind holding the series this week, so it likely comes down to scheduling needs. NBC may want to hold the fall finale for a particular week of the year, and that means a short break in the schedule. However, it could hold the entire season back when it premiered due to the placement of the Halloween episode for the season.

So, we just get an annoying week off. Instead of a new episode, we’ll get a rerun, and we’re heading right back to a meta episode of the series. Titled “The Contestant,” the team has its work cut out when a reality show contestant arrives feeling like she is still trapped in a reality program. Wolf finds a way to connect with the patient, when everyone else seems happy to dope her up with meds and send her off to an inpatient facility.

When will Brilliant Minds return with new episodes?

The good news is the promo told us how long this break would be. Brilliant Minds season 2, episode 8 will air on Monday, Nov. 17 at the regular time of 10 p.m. ET/PT.

The promo gives us an idea of what to expect. We’ll see a pilot suffer some sort of failure while in the air, and she needs to land the plane as safely as possible. This leads to a huge emergency in the hospital, but the team will end up treating the pilot with an incredibly rare phenomenon. The entire world is upside down when she’s standing upright.

Of course, Wolf is going to want to get to the bottom of this, as it means something happened in that plane crash. Meanwhile, we may see Ericka struggle with the level of trauma that is coming into the hospital, considering she is still dealing with PTSD from her own major emergency in the elevator. On top of that, Charlie Porter is back, so we’re sure to get a little more of why Wolf ends up in the psychiatric facility.

Brilliant Minds airs on Mondays at 10/9c on NBC.
