We’re not happy about it, but it’s happening. Kristen Bell’s highly rated and funny comedy is leaving Netflix. What the fork?!?

Yes, we’re talking about The Good Place, which ran on NBC for four wonderful seasons. There’s still time to get through all four seasons for one last time, but then it will be heading to another streaming service. At least, we hope it will be. There are no details of that just yet, which is pretty normal when it comes to shows leaving a streamer.

The Good Place is leaving Netflix in September

In some good news, there’s almost the full month of September to watch The Good Place in full again. All four seasons will leave Netflix on Friday, Sept. 26. Now is the time to binge-watch a couple of times just in case it takes time to find a new streaming home.

The Good Place leaving Netflix will come as a shock to many. After all, this has been its home since the series debuted on NBC back in 2016. Granted, NBCUniversal didn’t have Peacock at the time.

It’s highly likely that the series will end up moving over to Peacock after this. Chances are that Netflix has lost the licensing rights and that NBCUniversal wants to benefit from the views, so it’s moving the show onto its own platform. As soon as we know, we’ll be sure to let you know.

This is why I always get DVDs or at least Digital copies of my favorite shows and movies. You just never know what the deal with the streaming platforms is.

What is The Good Place about?

Did you miss the series when it first arrived? Well, now is the time to watch the show. The Good Place follows a group of individuals who die and go to “The Good Place.” At least, that’s what they’re told has happened, and some of them are surprised. Bell’s Eleanor Shellstrop is extremely surprised, considering her life of bad behavior.

She soon realizes that she’s in the Good Place by mistake, and now she’s hiding from the architect, Michael, and his assistant, Janet. Thanks to her new friends in the afterlife, Eleanor learns that it’s never too late to change, and she decides to go on an adventure to be worthy of the place that she’s ended up in.

Of course, there are other twists along the way. NBC did cancel the series after four seasons, but it came with enough time to craft an ending. This is one of those shows that is wonderful from beginning to end, and it’s time to have a forking good time.
