It's more bad news for The Equalizer fans as episodes are pulled from major streamer

The hits just keep coming for fans of CBS series The Equalizer. Not only did CBS recently announce that the show had been canceled after five seasons, but soon, you won't even be able to stream episodes on Netflix.

What's On Netflix reported that The Equalizer would be removed from the service soon and I confirmed it myself. If you check your Netflix account, The Equalizer page now reads that the last day to watch it will be on June 15, meaning the show will be gone by June 16. The outlet also claims the streaming service will not license seasons 4 or 5, but I didn't see that verified anywhere. It sounds true, since Netflix is removing the 46 episodes it has right now.

However, it is still possible that the streamer will get the latter seasons eventually. Netflix has previously gotten random seasons of shows in the past due to various licensing deals. That being said, it does feel like there is a note of finality in Netflix's removal.

Currently, several other CBS/Paramount shows are on the platform, such as Fire Country, NCIS, and S.W.A.T., none of which shows signs of being removed any time soon. Even the first three seasons of Paramount+ exclusive series Evil are still available and being shared between Netflix and the Paramount+ streaming service.

The fact that The Equalizer was only added to Netflix in December 2024 and it's already getting removed about six months after does not bode well for the series and its ratings performance on the app. What's On Netflix reports that the show spent 18 days in Netflix's Top 10 charts before dropping off.

It's bad enough that people won't be able to easily watch The Equalizer on Netflix anymore, but it also means that the chances of Netflix picking it up are now highly unlikely. Note that we don't know if the streamer would have saved it, but the removal of it altogether is a bad sign.

Fans will still be able to stream The Equalizer, but they'll either need a Paramount+ subscription to do so or they can watch it via the free service Tubi, though the downside to Tubi is that it does have ads. Tubi also currently has four seasons and is just missing the most recent one.

The Equalizer wasn't the only show to get canceled by CBS this year, with the network also giving the boot to S.W.A.T., FBI: Most Wanted, and FBI: International.
