Most of NBC's biggest scripted shows have already aired their season finales for the 2024-2025 television season, meaning we'll swiftly be moving into summer programming for the network shortly as we await the 2025-2026 schedule to kick off this fall.
One of the first big summer series to debut on the beloved Peacock network is Destination X, a show for adrenaline junkies seeking something exciting and unique from the many dating competition shows out there. Hosted by The Walking Dead: Dead City and Invincible star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Destination X challenges contestants to figure out where they are after departing the special blacked-out bus to learn where they are each week. They have to uncover the destination "X."
The bus will transport players to an unidentified location where they'll need to use their own knowledge and identify clues to figure out where they are. To make things more interesting, each spot will be "gamified" to create a challenge.
Where and when to watch Destination X
Destination X kicks off on Tuesday, May 27 at 10/9c on NBC, following new episodes of America's Got Talent. Episodes will premiere on Tuesdays at the same time in subsequent weeks. The first episode introduces us to the 10 strangers who will be embarking on this exciting challenge.
For those who prefer to stream shows instead of watching them live, Destination X will be made available exclusively on NBCUniversal's streaming service Peacock the day after airing, meaning you can watch them on the Wednesday following the Tuesday debut.
Peacock is currently available for plans as low as $7.99/month.
More details about the show
Destination X combines some of the best attributes of reality competition television by pitting strangers against one another in a foreign locale and having them work together to figure out where, but it's also a strategic game. Competitors can forge alliances—and break them. They will be tested as they journey from place to place and try to figure out who to trust.
Reality TV fans might also recognize some familiar faces on the series, as it features several alums from shows like Love Island, The Traitors, and The Challenge. The winning player at the end will win $250,000.
Entertainment Weekly reports that, at some point during the first season, "The Traitors/The Bachelor alum Peter 'Pilot Pete' Weber and Love Island alum JaNa Craig," will join to "change the trajectory of the game." It sounds like there are plenty of twists in store to keep things fresh!
As for the series's host, Morgan is best known for playing Negan in The Walking Dead universe, John Winchester in Supernatural, and Denny Duquette in Grey's Anatomy. He's also appeared in The Boys, Fall, Bloody Axe Wound, The Unholy, The Good Wife, and more.
