Hit NBC drama shoots to No. 1 for Netflix (though we're not surprised)

Last month on June 7, 2025, a hit NBC drama was added to Netflix that we were very excited about! As a fan of the show, I knew it had a lot of potential being added to the streaming giant. Now, it's definitely met all of our expectations, and more.

That NBC drama is Blindspot starring Jaimie Alexander! All five seasons of the action-packed series made their debut on Netflix at the beginning of June, and it definitely gained the attention it deserves. It immediately got viewers hooked and interested, which makes us fans so happy. Plus with it being a bit astray with no permanent streaming home before that, it was great to see it finally get one.

Well now a little over a month later, the Nielsen numbers are in to also prove what we already know! According to TVLine, Blindspot took over the No. 1 spot in Nielsen's viewership data for the most-watched streaming show in the U.S. at the time. Overall, it saw 1.8 billion minutes viewed within 100 episodes. That is quite the accomplishment!

The former NBC hit even beat out a Netflix Original, Ginny and Georgia season 3, which came in second in the Nielsen ratings. It was very close though, coming in just a little behind at almost 1.7 billion minutes viewed for 30 episodes. But still. A licensed program beating a Netflix Original? That doesn't happen very often.

Though we really can't say we're surprised that Blindspot has received so much positive attention! Alexander is an absolutely fabulous actress, and her portrayal of Jane Doe, found naked in a travel bag in the middle of Times Square by the FBI, is one not just any actor can pull off. And yeah, that's how the show opens!

The main character doesn't have any memories of who she is, what's happened to her, or how she ended up there. However, there's quite a number of tattoos she's inked with, becoming the only clues she has into her past. They also help her and FBI Agent Kurt Weller solve the crimes happening in the Big Apple.

I mean anytime there's a crime drama, count me in! And it's been proven time and again that Netflix viewers are a fan of the genre. And Blindspot is the perfect fit for that fix you need.

All five seasons of Blindspot are streaming on Netflix.
