Earlier this month, we saw NBC axing shows left and right with the cancellations of series like Suits LA, Found, Night Court, The Irrational and Lopez vs. Lopez. Now, the only remaining NBC drama left in limbo is Grosse Pointe Garden Society, and fans are growing increasingly anxious as the network remains silent on its fate.

To add fuel to the fire, one of the show’s stars has just landed a role in a brand-new Netflix series, raising eyebrows and sparking rumors about whether this signals the end for the beloved NBC drama. However, given that this actor isn't part of the main cast of Grosse Pointe Garden Society, we doubt that their taking on a new role alone indicates the show's cancellation. But the timing is certainly curious. The fact that this is happening while the show’s fate is still undecided is interesting and could possibly hint that something is going on behind the scenes. Hopefully, that's not the case, but until NBC makes an official statement, we're on edge about what the future holds for this underrated series.

Jocko Sims, who plays the role of Tucker in the drama series, has just joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming Little House on the Prairie reboot. Besides Grosse Pointe Garden Society, Sims is best known for his previous starring role as Dr. Floyd Reynolds in the medical drama New Amsterdam. The reboot series is based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic Little House on the Prairie novels, and Rebecca Sonnenshine serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Here's what the new show is about via Netflix:

"A transformed adaptation of Wilder’s semi-autobiographical books, the new Little House on the Prairie is part family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West. The series will offer a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier."

Sims has signed on as a series regular to portray one of the original characters from the books, Dr. George Tann. Tann is a compassionate and warm-hearted physician whose friendly bedside manner makes him a key figure in the community. Based on a real individual, Tann appears in the Little House novels as the physician on the Osage Diminished Reserve who saved the Ingalls family when they fell ill with malaria.

Also joining him in the cast, portraying the iconic Ingalls family are Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline, Luke Bracey as Charles, Skywalker Hughes as Mary, and Alice Halsey as Laura. Additionally, The Watchful Eye's Warren Christie has been added to the series regular cast playing the role of John Edwards. Edwards is also a character from the books that fans will recognize. The other cast members to be revealed so far are Wren Zhawenim Gotts (Good Eagle), Meegwun Fairbrother (Mitchell), Alyssa Wapanatâhk (White Sun), and Xander Cole (Little Puma). However, none of the actors will be playing characters from the novels.

The cameras are reportedly set to start rolling on this new series in Winnipeg, Canada, in June. With May about to wrap up soon, we're keeping our fingers crossed that NBC finally announces its decision on Grosse Pointe Garden Society's fate around this time as well. Don't worry. We'll keep you updated!
