We’re getting more and more worried about Link in the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 premiere. The synopsis for the second episode of the season hints that Amelia will lose someone she loves.
I do still think that the show is trying to push us toward Link dying and that it’s going to be a red herring. I suspect that someone else will end up being the victim, and it’s someone else tied to Amelia. However, it’s clear that something big is going to happen in the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 premiere, and right now, very few people are safe.
Meredith is there for Amelia in Grey’s Anatomy season 22
The synopsis for Grey’s Anatomy season 22, episode 2, is the hint that whoever dies in the premiere will be tied to Amelia. While discussing hospital renovations, there is a snippet that says Meredith will spend time with Amelia. We know that Meredith Grey isn’t going to die in the hospital. She was outside during the explosion, and she doesn’t have the same instinct as Ben Warren to run back into the hospital.

So, that means Amelia has her sister-in-law by her side. However, Amelia is going to need the support of Meredith, who knows what it’s like to lose people close to her. This does hint that someone Amelia loves is going to die in the first episode.
With this, there’s only one person who makes sense, and that’s Link. Not only will Jo be devastated, but so will Amelia, as her son, Scout, is going to lose his father. If Link dies, Amelia will find herself as a single mom, and she’ll need Meredith’s support and guidance to get through it. Out of everyone around Amelia, Meredith has handled this.
Who else could possibly die to upset Amelia?
It’s hard to imagine who could die that would affect Amelia so much in Grey’s Anatomy. I could suggest Beltran, but it’s not like they were serious. In fact, they hadn’t even hooked up, because Beltran was getting out of a messy marriage and didn’t want to pull Amelia in.
This would explain why Winston is looking so sad in the promo, though. He was hooking up with Beltran, and that could lead to some feelings of loss and sorrow, but it still wouldn’t explain why Amelia would react with such fear and sorrow that we see in a still from the Grey’s Anatomy season 22 premiere.
There isn’t anyone else for Amelia to feel this way about. Once upon a time, it would have been Owen Hunt, but we know he’s making it through alive. Meredith would have been the likely person, but again, she’s outside the hospital. So, I guess the only other option is Webber.
Amelia and Webber have a close relationship because they are both recovering addicts. They lean on each other for support, and with Webber gone, Amelia could feel like she’s lost that support, which is why Meredith steps in. However, I can’t imagine Grey’s Anatomy without Webber, so I go back to Link, and he just seems too obvious at this point.
