We get the usual opening to Grey’s Anatomy season 22 episode 10, catching up with how the interns are doing. Then we finally get caught up on the main story of the week. Addison and Amelia return to the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial, and we are here for it!

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Grey’s Anatomy season 22 episode 10.

Simone quickly shares with Jules that while Blue isn’t seeing someone else, Mohanty is likely, potentially sleeping with someone else. However, it’s time to get onto the cases of the week, and one of those is with Katie, who finds out that her primary tumor has decreased by 30%. The treatment is working.

Meanwhile, Winston heads to see Link and Jules, with good and bad news. The bad news is no more hospital breakfast, because she gets to head home. At the same time, Link gets to head back to work, seeing patients, which he’s waited for. It’s all good for the two of them, right? We’ll see!

As for Bailey, she’s not sticking around with Katie, as she is heading out on a ride-along program with Owen and Blue, looking into how it will work out. Things get off to a great start, when there’s a discussion of patience, because there’s a lot of waiting.

To end the act, Simone and Bryant get their first patient. A “firefighter” who has slipped on baby oil and needs medical attention. I’m sure you can guess the type of “firefighter” he is.

Amelia and Addison immediately realize the problem on Grey's Anatomy season 22 episode 10

Amelia heads back to the hospital to see Addison’s patient, who runs an animal sanctuary with her husband. It’s because of her husband that she’s pregnant — sharing that she quite on the birth control because of him, but there’s clearly a lot of love there. The main focus is on the fact that she has lost her peripheral vision, and the doctors need to get to the bottom of it.

Back with Owen, Bailey, and Blue, there is a lot of card playing. Owen is a little worried about how much they’re waiting, but he needs to remember that Bailey is married to a former first responder. I know he wants this program to wait, but he’s panic a little too much about it failing.

Yes, the “firefighter” is a stripper, and Link needs to treat him as he has a dislocated hip. Meanwhile, Lucas and Katie continue to bond, and this time it’s over cheesecake. Lucas wants Katie to head to New York for the real best cheesecake, and he goes as far as suggesting that she book the flight. Is this going to mess up with her treatment?

With the first responders, we get to see how the paramedics work, with Jackie the Paramedic helping to teach Blue at the same time. It’s a cheerleading incident, and she takes it on like a pro.

Back with the stripper, as Link tries to get the guy’s hip back into place, he reinjures his shoulder. Has he gone back to work too soon?

Addison drops a bomb on Amelia

As Amelia sees that there is a tumor that the pregnancy likely ascerbated, the patient loses her vision. Addison needs Amelia to do the surgery, but Amelia is still on sabbatical. That’s when Addison drops the bomb: Jake is leaving her, and while she doesn’t want to talk about it, but she wants her former-sister-in-law to join her.

It’s great news for Jo and Link. Not only is Jo able to go home, but so are the twins. It’s clear that Link isn’t going to share what happened with him yet.

Of course, while Addison said she doesn’t want to talk about Jake, Amelia isn’t going to let Addison to ignore everything.

Meanwhile, at the cheerleaders, Jackie helps Blue triage in the field. However, one of the patients suddenly collapses. At the same time, Lucas and Ben find out that Katie’s treatment is being suspended, and they need to get to the bottom of what that means.

The ride-along program arguably proves to be useful for Blue

This is certainly a great lesson for Blue. As the patient has clearly seized and had a brain bleed, Blue goes through all the solutions that he’d go through in the hospital. There aren’t those options in the field.

There’s a lot of animosity in the OR with Amelia and Addison, as Addison reminds everyone that her patient didn’t even want a child of her own. She did this for her husband, and now it’s led to this situation. It’s clear that Addison is letting her own circumstances cloud her judgment.

While in the ambulance on the way back to the hospital, the female cheerleader ends up needing extra medical attention, offering Blue more experience in the field. Meanwhile, Bailey gets the bad news that Katie’s treatment has been canceled. This is sure to take a turn.

Addison makes a call to someone who can help

While in the ambulance, Bailey makes it clear that she’s not going to take a chance on losing a patient. Owen isn’t happy about the situation, but in the end, Bailey is the Residency Director, and so, Blue chooses to listen to her. They start to perform surgery in the middle of the ambulance.

In the OR, things take a turn for the worse for the patient, and Addison starts to panic. Amelia rushes through all the reasons their patient could be crashing, but once the initial emergency has been dealt with, Amelia kicks Addison out of the OR, and it’s likely the best decision to make.

In the OR with the stripper, Link continues to struggle with the patient, even with other tools. As Simone is able to put the stripper’s hip back in place, Link allows her to “take over” as a teaching case. It’s clear that Simone has realized that Link is struggling due to his shoulder, but this is way for him to save space.

Back with Addison, she decides to call Webber, and while she does admit to raising her voice, she doesn’t believe that she needs to apologize. Webber can tell that she does need to do that, encouraging her to do the right thing. It’s just what Addison needed to hear, but can she go through with it?

When Bailey and Owen get to the hospital, Owen decides to call Bailey out on the decision she made. The point of the ride-along is to see the constraints of pre-hospital medicine, and she went against that. Of course, she is too busy focused on Katie’s current situation to realize that she was in the wrong in the ambulance.

Amelia offers some sound advice, as Bailey admits her poor actions

Simone and Bryant have a tiff after the stripper incident. Bryant thinks that Simone got in his way after he set them up with the OR, but it’s clear that he was completely oblivious about Link’s issues. Simone isn’t going to be the one to step on Link’s toes, so she makes it clear that maybe she and Bryant shouldn’t be hooking up.

Meanwhile, Bailey learns that there is no hope in Katie’s treatment. It’s being canceled because it lost its funding, and now Bailey needs to deliver the bad news. You can see that Lucas has become attached in more ways than just a doctor, as he has to listen to Bailey and Katie discuss what could happen and how upset Katie becomes. There shouldn’t be this hope if clinical trials don’t get to continue to the end. There should be a duty to see them through.

Blue decides to ask about Mohanty’s other relationship. It turns out that they have been over for weeks, so it looks like they’re still on.

Now it’s finally time to get to the bottom of the Addison situation. After all, the last time we heard, Jake was in the thick of it when Addison had been doxed. It turns out that Addison forgot their anniversary and a birthday, and she admits that she’s not the woman he married. However, it’s also that the world is a very different place to what it used to be, and she is picking work over everything else.

Amelia has some good advice. Nobody is asking her to choose with how fundamentally broken things are. The sabbatical has been great for Amelia, and maybe Addison needs to take one! I was worried that we wouldn’t get to see the two of them together, so I’m so glad Addison’s return has been combined with Amelia’s.

To end the episode, Link suggests that he should take his family leave now. Jo is shocked, but the more disappointing thing is that Link isn’t honest about his shoulder.

Meanwhile, Bailey turns to Owen about Katie, including how she treated Katie’s grandmother for the same cancer when she was just a resident. She does admit, though, that she was overzealous in the ambulance, sharing that she approved Owen’s program for a six-month period. It’s hard not to wonder if Owen will find a way to help Katie to help Bailey.

Bryant decides to pay Simone a visit, deciding that he needs to apologize for how he acted at work. Taking a leaf out of the stripper’s book, he decides to throw on Pony and dance. And how can anyone complain about that?

This is a live recap of Grey’s Anatomy, so stay tuned for the latest updates.
