Ghosts isn't new tonight, Thursday, Nov. 27 (but there are still more episodes in 2025)

Something that won’t be too surprising for many to hear is that there isn’t a new episode of Ghosts season 5 tonight, Thursday, Nov. 27. Don’t worry, though, because you have not missed the last episode of the year.

The lack of a new episode tonight is completely expected and normal. There are still at least two more episodes of the year to come.

Ghosts is taking a night off for Thanksgiving

You just have to consider the date to realize why Ghosts won’t air a new episode. It’s Thanksgiving, and that means all the networks have their special programming. There has been one year that The CW attempted regular programming on Thanksgiving, and there were some terrible results, because people aren’t watching regular shows on the night.

Thanksgiving is all about spending time with family, and it’s about watching the football and the holiday specials. So, of course, Ghosts is going to be off. The Thanksgiving episode of Ghosts aired on Thursday, Nov. 20, and brought a wonderful homage to Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

There isn’t a rerun on tonight, either. Instead, CBS will air the NCAA game, Dukes vs. Arkansas, and then there will be a rerun of Elsbeth at 10 p.m. ET/PT. If you want to check out Ghosts, then you’ll need to turn to Paramount+.

When will Ghosts season 5 return with new episodes?

In some great news, Ghosts will be back on Thursday, Dec. 4. There are at least two more episodes in 2025, and that’s just where the schedule goes up to on CBS. The network hasn’t made fall finales all that clear just yet, but we do expect Thursday, Dec. 11 to be the fall finale.

Ghosts season 5, episode 7 will see Eric plan to propose to Bela, but Sass is up to something when he plants seeds of doubt in Bela’s mind. It looks like he’s heading into the dreams of Bela, but why would he want to plant seeds of doubt? Meanwhile, Isaac wants to show that he is one of the basement ghosts, especially as he’s trying to run for the representative for all ghosts and needs the basement ghosts to support him.

When we chatted with Richie Moriarty about the Thanksgiving episode, we learned that there is an Alberta episode coming up, and it looks like the Thursday, Dec. 11 episode is going to be the one he mentioned. Alberta changed her name, and it’s time for her to share something with Pete that she hasn’t shared with any other ghost in the house. Who is Esther Green?
