Ghosts is about to experience a sweet family reunion in this week's all-new episode, "Bring Your Daughter To Work Day!" While we did have Pete's ex-wife stay for a few seasons and be "sucked off" in the season 5 premiere, and Thor's son Bjorn from next door, one of the living visitors will be making their comeback to Woodstone Mansion, much to the delight of one of the spirits. It's going to be a heartwarming, if hilarious, reconnection, and to add to the greatness, the affected spirit will be gifted with spending time with them.

The one who's coming back and will be staying is Trevor's daughter, Abby. We only met her once before, in season four, "Pinkus Returns," when she learned that her father, who had raised and loved her as his own, wasn't her biological father. Naturally, this puts a dramatic shift into the weekend, and to top it off, it was Trevor who spilled the beans on Abby through his ghostly power.

Adam Pinkus was actually a co-worker of Trevor in the 1990s and was the one who the former gifted his pants to after a hazing gone wrong. Trevor passed away not soon after that incident, so taking in this point of his good virtue reflects that he isn't just a party boy with unlimited funds, but a good-hearted, down-to-earth guy (with unlimited funds).

I understand that when you're a parent (and a good one), you want to watch out for your children and know every thread of their being. So, I'm not mad at Trevor for hijacking Sam's phone and revealing that Pinkus isn't Abby's dad (accidentally) in this respect, seeing as it's physically impossible for him to tell his daughter in person. Trevor only wanted Abby to know the truth after Sam failed him. His phone text unnerved the tension between the Pinkuses and Sam. Yet Trevor found a way to correct the problem, bringing everyone back to normal.

With all of that is now in the past, what purpose does Abby have this time around at Woodstone?

Ghosts will have Trevor act like a protective father

Trevor is learning the ropes of being a girl dad, even if he's passed on. Even in death, you will always look after your family. And as such, he devised a clever plan to get to know Abby, with a little help from Sam. Then Trevor's newfound fatherhood will affect him in ways he didn't know existed, including that familiar one: protection.

Of course, Abby coming back to Woodstone will likely refresh old wounds from her last trip, but it could be a brand new adventure for her. Additionally, Trevor deserves a chance to form a paternal relationship with her, even if she can't see him, she could at least feel him. That potential storyline would only open doors and create something beautiful.

Check out the short synopsis from "Bring Your Daughter To Work Day Below"!

"Trevor finds a way to spend more time with his newly discovered daughter, Abby (Gideon Adlon), by getting her a job at Jay’s restaurant."

Ghosts airs Thursdays on CBS.
