Just ahead of the two-part Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season finale next week, we have our first juicy tease about season 2 and the seemingly confirmed guest star who could be stirring up some drama. TV Line previously announced that Christopher Gorham will make his debut in the season finale, but now it sounds like that won't be the last we see of him.

According to TV Line, Gorham plays Scott, Mandy's new boss at the television station who has some complicated romantic history with her. Based on the synopses for both episodes in the two-part season finale, Mandy keeps this information from Georgie, not sharing with her husband that she's working closely with someone she used to be romantically involved with.

Keeping a secret would cause tension in any marriage, but we've already seen how Georgie and Mandy face conflict related to the truth (see: not well). Unfortunately for them, it seems like Scott's presence in their lives won't just be a one-and-done experience. TV Line has now teased that Gorham will appear in more episode than the season 1 finale, hinting at a bigger role in season 2.

Christopher Gorham will be back in Georgie & Mandy season 2

In their latest roundup of scoop, the outlet revealed that Christopher Gorham would be in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage as Scott "beyond" the hour-long finale. Currently, it's unconfirmed how big of a role he could play in season 2, whether it's to close out the story arc at the top of the season or if it will be a long-running recurring role throughout the season. We'll have to wait and see!

Honestly, it's not surprising that Gorham will be back on the series for additional episode, as it seems he quickly assimilated with the cast. When the first season wrapped in April, Gorham posted a photo with the cast and crew and said the team had created a "family" that's "welcoming, warm hearted, and hilarious." He seems to fit right in, but it will be a bummer if we have to hate his character.

Anyone who tries to get in between Georgie and Mandy isn't a friend of mine. I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting them to make their marriage work, though the title hints that might not be the case in the future. I love them as a couple, and Emily Osment and Montana Jordan are so great together. I'm rooting for their first marriage to be their only marriage, but Scott could bring difficulty.

Still, it's exciting to receive our first tangible piece of Georgie & Mandy season 2 news. The series and its central relationship needs conflict every now and again, and a relationship from the past is the perfect test for a young couple with everything going against them like Georgie and Mandy. I believe in them and I'm excited to see what's coming up in the finale that leads into season 2.

Watch the Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage season finale on Thursday, May 15 at 8/7c, and stay tuned for more news and updates about season 2!
