One of ABC's longest-running reality series is set to return with its thirty-fourth season this fall. We're talking about Dancing with the Stars, and the buzz has already begun, though not all of it is positive. While fans are eager to see which celebrities will compete for the mirrorball trophy, a rumored casting choice has stirred backlash online and sparked heated debates across social media platforms.

According to Parade, Grant Ellis, the former lead of The Bachelor season 29, recently went on Instagram Live and said that he has been in talks with DWTS casting to potentially join the upcoming season. While nothing has been officially confirmed by the show, Ellis’s comments quickly caught the attention of fans, sparking a wave of reactions. Many took to Reddit, expressing skepticism or disappointment about the possibility of him competing on the dance floor.

"I’m not even opposed to having Bachelor Nation on the show but like... Grant? Did we like his season?" - Reddit commenter Parmesan_Pirate119

"I truly think Grant will flame out quicker than Matt James if he is cast. I don’t see him being popular with voters considering how his season ended!" - Reddit commenter External-Lychee5407

Ellis’s controversial season of The Bachelor left mixed feelings among viewers, with some not liking his behavior or decisions during the show. In fact, some didn't particularly like who he chose in the end, which was Juliana Pasquarosa. Some viewers felt blindsided by his choice, feeling that he had led the woman who came in second on only to end up with Pasquarosa. That's why it doesn't come as a surprise that many DWTS fans are now hesitant about his rumored participation on the popular dance competition series.

As mentioned above, nothing has been officially confirmed regarding Ellis joining the season 34 cast. However, it wouldn't be shocking if he did. Given Dancing with the Stars’ history of featuring people from Bachelor Nation, casting Ellis would be a natural fit, even if some fans remain divided about his participation. But who knows? Maybe the show's casting team will cast someone else from another show in Bachelor Nation, like Gerry Turner from The Golden Bachelor or Joan Vassos from The Golden Bachelorette. We'll just have to wait and see.

There have only been two people cast so far in Dancing with the Stars season 34. They are internet personality and model Alix Earle and Australian wildlife conservationist and television personality Robert Irwin. Alfonso Ribeiro is set to return as host for the season, with former professional dancer and judge Julianne Hough joining him again as co-host. The judges haven't been locked down yet, but Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli are all anticipated to return in these roles.
