Fox has yet to hand out any early renewals, but that could be about to finally change!

February has only just begun, but the broadcast networks are beginning to take a look at their current lineups and making some early decisions on which shows they want to bring back as part of their 2026-27 TV lineup. So far, CBS has the biggest jump on the competition, having renewed nearly its entire lineup with only a few shows sitting on the bubble. Meanwhile, NBC has started to wade into the renewal waters, handing out a select number of renewals to its hit comedies Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical.

Of the bunch, Fox and ABC are the two networks that have been a bit more stingy in handing out early renewals, with no live-action scripted series having been renewed by either network so far. Yes, Fox has renewed several of its animated comedies, many of which are under multi-season renewals, but we’ve not seen any of its live-action offerings renewed. Well, that might be changing very soon as a new report from Deadline indicates Fox is looking to hand out renewals to several of its hit series.

Among the shows that are looking good for renewal are sophomore dramas Doc and Murder in a Small Town, as well as freshman series Best Medicine and Memory of a Killer. While nothing has been announced, Deadline reports all four series are looking good for renewal

Doc is likely the least surprising show on the list as the medical drama remains a strong performer for Fox in its second season. The show secured a super-sized second season following its breakout performance in the 2024-25 season, and it’s unsurprising that Fox is looking to keep the series going for a third season. What will be interesting is to see if it again hands out a larger episode order, or if the third season’s episode count comes in a bit lower.

It’s also unsurprising that Murder in a Small Town is expected to be renewed for a third season as the show remains a strong performer for Fox. While its ratings might not be as strong as Doc’s, the show is a solid performer and is relatively cheaper to make thanks to it being an international co-production between Fox and Canada's Sepia Films.

It is interesting that Fox is already talking about renewals for Best Medicine and Memory of a Killer given the two shows have only just begun their runs. However, they’ve been off to pretty solid starts so far and feature some amazing leads, with Josh Charles leading Best Medicine and Patrick Dempsey heading up the cast of Memory of a Killer.

Of course, at the moment, Fox hasn’t officially handed out any renewals, but it seems fans of these four particular Fox shows could be getting good news soon!
