Brilliant Minds delivered a powerful season 2 fall finale, leaving us on a cliffhanger for multiple characters. We also got a much-needed backstory for Charlie Porter, that leaves a few intrigues as to what his plan is.
However, this is where we have some bad news. There are no more new episodes of Brilliant Minds season 2 in 2025. The show is now officially on its winter break, but we do know when it’s back, and it’s a little earlier than we thought.
Brilliant Minds season 2 returns in January 2026
While CBS is opting for a break well into February, NBC has opted to bring its shows back in the early winter. Look for Brilliant Minds season 2, episode 11 on Monday, Jan. 5. It will keep its 10/9c time slot.
Why did we expect a delay? Well, it’s all linked to the Winter Olympics coming in February. NBC has the licensing for the sporting fixtures, which means all shows will head off for a short time. CBS is opting to wait until after the Winter Olympics to bring its shows back, helping to keep consistency, which is important.
NBC will opt for episodes of Brilliant Minds (and other shows) to air in January and will then take a break between Friday, Feb. 6 and Sunday, Feb. 22, for the Winter Olympics.
However, don’t expect Brilliant Minds to return again until March. NBC has opted for a two-hour episode of The Voice on Monday, Feb. 23, so we’ll get the next new episode of Brilliant Minds on Monday, March 2.
What to expect when Brilliant Minds returns
But first, we’re looking at the January return, which is set to answer a few of the cliffhangers left at the end of the Brilliant Minds season 2 fall finale. The first is all about Oliver Wolf, who got an address for his dad, Noah. When he got to the address, there were signs that nobody has been outside in weeks and nobody was answering the door, so he decided to break in. Will Noah be in there? Well, Wolf seemed to see something!
Meanwhile, we have the questions around the “later” storyline of Wolf in Hudson Oaks. He signed himself in voluntarily, and it looks like Charlie Porter has something to do with this downward spiral in his mental health. However, Wolf doesn’t want to be there anymore, and he’s trying to escape.
It’s not all about Wolf, though. The fall finale left us with a major car accident, and it turned out that Michelle had been involved in it. The winter premiere is sure to focus on the doctors saving her and how Van deals with the feelings of everyone around him, while also being worried on his own accord because Michelle is the love of his life!
